All quiet today although rumours persist of Colin's interest in the striker Gallagher from Southampton with an asking price around £3.5m not the £7m originally quoted. That would still knock a big chunk out of the transfer budget unless we can get money for Noonie, Pilks and John.

On another topic BT went to the women's game at CCS last night. I declined to attend as I don't like slow motion football no matter how skillful the players are. He has tried to put a brave face on it but it sounds like it was similar to watching paint dry. With hindsight they should have done away with the scoreless first 120 minutes and gone straight to penalties!!!

According to WOL (reliability) we've bid 1.2 million for Hayes - a 29 year old winger from the SPL. Really Warnock?!? Considering how tight money is supposed to be. Really?!?

That's the fullbacks sorted - now for a striker (Danny Ward?), a wide man (Johnny Hayes?) and a midfield general (Charlie Adam?)

Maybe I'm missing something, but that doesn't seem a lot of money shelled out - maybe there's a "biggie" coming our way as well.

Not sure where Patterson will fit in with Pelts, Richards, Bennett and Connolly covering those positions.

Possibly another keeper - Colin seems to like Lee Camp although to have 2 veterans with him and Murphy might not work. I would have thought a younger guy might be more suitable.

I can't see Charlie Adam coming - dropping down a division and Prem wages but you never know.

No solid news on Manga or Whitts yet or any of the others likely to leave apart from the article about Noonie, Pilks and Declan last week. There must be others to offload.

 

Adam is definitely an aggressive Warnock sort of player, but I agree the wages could be a problem.

However if Manga does go, the release his past high wage commitment would free up some cash for a middle of the park general. For me Adam would do a great job.

Having said that, Whitts is still an enigma. I've got a funny feeling he could still be with us next season on much reduced wages.

Thought that was the least of our worries. We'll end up with a bloated squad again if we're not careful.

Hope Colin can bring players in without players having left. Might take a while before some of our contracted players find new homes.

Good to see business being done early though. Need all incoming players sorted by the end of the month.
