Patterson looks a very good signing. Hes versatile as well. Maybe Col doesnt see him as a right back. I think its far more likely we will see the return of Joe Ledley rather than Charlie Adam. I thought wed sign Camp but hes available now so I thought he already be signed up. Maybe Col is trying to squeeze a few more quid out of Tan and has his eye on someone else. Ward looks nailed on. Add Ledley , maybe one more wideman and then get your money out and head to the bookies. I was optimistic we werent far off. We are going up Sparkey i tell you. Cardiff up Jacks down is the bet next season.
In essence Ledley is a slow winger who plays in midfield. He never had pace 6 years ago, won't have got any faster and is hardly creative - the fact that he's from Cardiff is irrelevant. I can't see him as the answer to our dire need for some to creative spark alongside Gunnar and Ralls - he'd be just more of the same. Apart from the alleged £400K development fee we're paying Hearts, the 3 players so far, Patterson, Etheridge and Mendes-Laing have all been freebies and Ledley would be the same. Nothing wrong with that and those players will need wages but Warnock hasn't spent a penny of any cash budget Tan might have made available. I'm expecting something far more radical to emerge in the next month - maybe even a multi million player out of the blue. If we do get Ward up front, that money should be spent on a class playmaker.
Never 'eard of 'im..................... http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2017/06/08/cardiff-city-keen-on-senegal-star-cheikh-ndoye/ EDIT......He's a big bugger though................ https://sofifa.com/player/219470
6 ft 3 1/2 inches according to my calculations. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cheikh_N'Doye Not heard of him either. Similar in build and style to Seyi Olofinjana who did okay for us for a while. 31 years old so no spring chicken and not one for the future.
Not really sorry - we can do better. I thought the £1.2M offer was chasing him a bit too hard. http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11704/10908482/jonny-hayes-no-longer-a-target-for-cardiff
Id say weve already spent well over a million of the budget. That budget wouldnt be for fees to clubs. Bosmans mean a player can leave a club for free but the player will command a signing on fee. Plus im sure Hoillet will also have pocketed a signing on fee as he could have walked for nothing. Joe Ledley is a quality player. Gunner has gone way up in my estimation this past season but Joe is better. There wont be a much better 2 in the middle than them in this league and Ralls is way underated by our fans. Id be happy with those 3 in the middle. I see 2 holding midfieders and the 2nd one may or may not be Ledley. Ralls will be the mobile player and the flair will come wide. Ledley is also a far better passer of the ball than some give him credit for. Pretty sure it was Derry and Faurlin who did the job for him at QPR. Good to see our business getting done early.
City turn down £3m off for Morrison from the Wendies. http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/cardiff-city-reject-3m-bid-13158320 What do you think? As we have said before, everyone has their price. If Manga was staying and we could screw another £1m from the Wendies I would certainly consider it but with Manga likely to go, at this point we don't have another option.
Letting Morro go without a suitable replacement would be irresponsible and send out the wrong message. To be fair, the £3M valuation is a bit light but not far off the mark. The worrying thing is that without Manga, it would be Bamba and Connolly with Peltier as a back up - mind you we've always got Halford
The only surprises are he would be going so far north and dropping down a division - although the latter is more understandable given his lack of pace. One joke comment in the article is about it being a blow to Cardiff. What knob write that? Okay Pete, you are so valuable to us we are going to drop your wages 50% and you will be mostly warming the bench!!! Assuming he goes, I'm sure I speak for all of us in thanking him for his sterling efforts in the last 10 years, his loyalty in the face of the florists, being part of the promotion winning team and being a generally good guy!!!! I have been criticised for calling others, in particular McNuggs, legends but surely Pete qualifies as that? Testimonial anyone?
I expect they think they've got a sell on clause................ http://www.nottinghampost.com/champ...o-league-one/story-30380965-detail/story.html
Monk to Boro. More opportunities for "You Jack Bas........" Well and truly crapped on at Leeds. They really don't have a clue there.
Sorry to see whitts go but it's the right thing. Again, early business. Even if it's players leaving, at least you know what you're left with and can recruit accordingly.
Can't understand this - do we want him or not? http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/cardiff-city-vs-celtic-neil-13163936
I think Warnock likes to wind up the media when it comes to transfers so when it looks like we're about to sign a player he says we aren't, this means that if the deal falls through the club doesn't look weak and if it goes through we were just winding up the media.
Looks close - hope this isn't just some old stuff recycled................. http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2017/06/12/cardiff-set-to-seal-danny-ward-move/
Bye Bye Whitts - thanks for the memories (sincerely! )............... http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.u...f_Peter_Whittingham_on_two_year_deal/?ref=mac
