I leave on 90 minutes most times so I make the fast train home. Annoyed to of missed the goal as I heard the cheering walking down towards white city but just glad we won.
Yes, the magnitude of that cheer would certainly indicate which team just scored, although your ears would have also picked up a Charlton winner.
Good to meet you today mate. The guys in front of us left before the end of the first half and again before the winner. Why?!! What's the point of buying a ticket if you're going to do that.
When I go to a game I never leave early. Reason QPR 5 Newcastle 5. Couple of lads I went to the game left at half time (we were 4 nil down) - we got 2 goals in last 5 mins to level. I think we also had two others disallowed but could be wrong. Anyone else remember that game?
Thanks, good to meet you too. Bizarre after all these years that we're in the same row just a few seats away from each other. Great to meet Beth and Roller too though I met Roller only briefly a couple of seasons back. The fellas behind me always leave early. I guess they reckon missing the traffic is worth the odd missed goal. Doesn't work for me. Especially after such a dull game whose only redeeming feature was EL K's quality curler on 94 minutes. Have a great week.
We were in the bar at half time and decided that if they scored the next goal we would go back to the pub. They didn't of course. I seem to recall us having a chance to make it 6-5 right at the death.
Always the game me & the mates refer back to having been close to leaving at half time & a mixture of delerium & speechlessness at the end, happy days
My father always insisted in leaving matches early to get ahead of the traffic and I always hated it. I always wait to the end now in case I miss something.
Missed the first minute yesterday due to traffic...feel bad about that...would never leave before end...there is always hope
I can understand leaving a few minutes early if your team is 2-0 down but if its 1-0 or 1-1? Just silly
That was the only home game I missed that season because two selfish people got married on a Saturday. The bloke that I went with then went home at half time. He went to the pub in the evening saying that he doesn't want to talk about football and no one understood why.
