I see that Chesterfield's Drew Talbot has gone to Portsmouth on a free....now there was a good player we let slip away.
PAFC have said that they have rejected a derisory offer for Curtis Nelson from Barnsley. Am I wrong then in thinking then that a week from now Nelson is a free agent and can go were he likes for nothing.....help me someone.
No, as he's under 24, a compensation package must be agreed between the clubs. http://www.plymouthherald.co.uk/ply...rom-barnsley/story-29433058-detail/story.html
He did indeed and is still there. I think that's a pretty fair offer for Nelson. He's got one eye and one arm and if they had thrown in a packet of Jelly Babies they could have signed him. It doesn't mean they won't sign him though does it. They went up via the playoffs didn't they so it would be hard to compete with a Championship club. I do not expect Nelson to be one of our's next season if I'm honest. Too many rumours says he is off somewhere.
He's only Captain because he's travelled outside of Yorkshire and is considered Worldly wise by the locals.
Gary Miller 6' 00" fullback/central defender/midfielder joins from Partick Thistle-DA knows him well so could be a good wee nugget. At 29 he also brings some much needed experience.
Yes another ex-Ross County Adams player 29 years old 6ft tall...played 250 games in Scotland. Refused a new contract from Partick Thistle... a proven right back....so is Mellors position under threat.....assuming Mellor takes his offer up of course......as Lyndy says an experienced player who has played at an higher level in Scotland than our Div 2 level....Adams knows him from the promotion time at Ross reaching the Premiership north of the border.
Derek Adams has spoken with Oscar Threlkeld who was surprisingly released by Bolton....but Threlkeld is also talking with clubs nearer home as expected at the moment....watch this space..
Louis Rooney has signed his new contract........a striker I know.....but not the striker I'd hoped for above.....but a start.....that means we have I think 8 players now.
Don't knock Rooney plym. I'm pleased he has signed and I think he will progress into a decent Argyle payday. That's on the basis that we will never keep anyone here who is very good. I was impressed with his debut.
Yep, he gets my vote too, just hope he gets a decent run in the side after having spent the entire season(more or less) on the bench. If he is good/old enough for a contract then surely he is good/old enough to play.
Yep age makes no difference now.. look at Ashford? If they have the quality let them play as at that age they have no fear..
