Yeah this has Carrillo vibes where we let a manager on the brink of being sacked bring in a player. Hopefully I’m wrong and he/we can do well
Impossible to know but I don’t think Tall Paul was Jones man as such. Seemed like he’s just the first one that wanted to join working down the list. Sounded like we were trying with multiple other strikers before ‘settling’ for Tall Paul to do a job for us. We probably don’t have the fitness to play all out press anyway tbh. Tall Paul worked hard at closing down on Saturday, think he can do it good enough if we do it a bit more pragmatically. And if not, he’s still a good option to bring on and mix it up.
Going on the Wolves match alone, he’s a lot quicker than I thought he would be too. If he can get his fitness levels up, I think he’ll be able to press, and with runners with genuine pace feeding off him, he could be a genuine asset to us.
Yep, his touch and general awareness was better in one game than Carrillo in his whole time here. You could see already he is much much better IMO. (He may still be pretty poo, but Carrillo was an absolute donkey and it’s hilarious to me that we paid actual money for him)
Also, didnt Leeds constantly try to sign Adams, so they may have seen something in his game that can work in the press. Still think he will get plenty of game time.
