Humberside reporting Chester close to agreeing a new 3 year deal, and Rosenior close to a new 2 year deal! Both great news though I thought it was previously said Chester's contract was going to be 4 years?

Doesn't look too bad so far and if there are a couple more quality signings to come plus loanees we are looking in good shape.

 

I would think we will be going with a 4 4 2 this time around.

I see us picking up 2 strikers with one of those being a PL striker. Cant see Bruce putting 2 people up front who have never played in the PL. I imagine that Aluko will going out on the wing.

 

Again, Steven Agnew has already publicly said our preferred formation will be 352.

 

Hadnt heard that. Still dont think you will be looking at an Aluko and Austin pairing upfront.

On the length of Chester's contract HDM saying 4 year whilst RH saying 3 year?

I stand to be corrected on James Chester contract length...been told it's 3-year but aware HDM saying 4. Either way, great news for #hcafc

 

Still no word on Aluko's contract...

 

Glad to have it all done now. Was important to get them two signed up for the next couple of years

 

Tis obviously Bruce's choice as to what formation to play, I personally would be a bit worried playing 3-5-2 next year, I thought that 2nd half of the season the better teams pushed their wingers right onto our wing backs which left us pretty short going forwards, and i'd fear that against stronger opposition we wouldn't be able to impose ourselves on the game as much. Wigan played 3-5-2 with lets say a similar squad standard last year and that didn't work out in the league for them....would take an FA cup win and relegation right now tho!

 

I am beginning to think a 4-3-3/4-5-1 could be best bet.

Most of the bigger teams play a 4-2-3-1, so we need to be able to counteract that to avoid getting thumped. That formation allows for 3 creative players in one team with a real finisher leading the line, so the best thing to counter it would be a 5-3-2 or a 4-3-3 into a 4-5-1.

 

Against Chelski we should play 1-8-1 if they have Torres up front

If they have a real striker then 8-1-1

It may well be the final year Chester has left being tagged onto his new deal making it a 4 year contract.
