http://www.independent.co.uk/news/u...-leadership-election-owen-smith-a7217391.html As if we didn't all know it the polls suggest Jeremy Corbyn will walk the leadership election as his opponent Owen Smith only appears to offer "I'm not Jeremy Corbyn" as an incentive to vote for him. Smith continually repeats Corbyn's ideas and policy suggestions and has few of his own but he's not much of an alternative. Things are afoot (including feet) and events coming up will define how Labour continues as a political party. The boundary changes look to adversely affect Labour more than any other party and the idea of de-selection for sitting MP's could see wholesale changes and a massive shift to the left. How Labour reacts to Brexit could also have an impact with core voters feeling even more marginalized. Is this the end? http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/201...uge-political-parties-can-die-why-should-lab/ A socialist leaning Labour party won't win the next general election and may end up leaving the party with its lowest number of seats. Corbyn has already hinted that an election defeat would not necessarily mean he steps down and he could continue as leader and aim to force policies even further to the left. The Parliamentary Labour group are keen on saying there won't be a split but this looks more likely. Corbyn can't be blamed entirely though, a poor show by Millibland, the financial crisis during Brown's term as PM and the stink surrounding Blair after Iraq have all contributed to a very low opinion of Labour. Expect to see a huge Tory majority at the next general election and a further move towards right of centre politics dominating for decades. And Boris for PM, get a £10 on it.
A little over a decade ago, commentators were saying the tories were doomed. A book entitled "The Strange Death of Tory Britain" even entered the bestseller lists (who the **** would want to pack that for their hols I don't know, but still). These things go in cycles. Labour will be back. Eventually. With Sadiq Khan as mayor of London and Andy Burnham odds on to be mayor of Manchester, the party will have a dual powebase in the parts of Britaim ukip and the tories cannot reach.
England is a lunatic nation, ran by lunatics at the behest of lunatics. In the land of lunacy anything is possible.
Did Owen Smith even vote for Owen Smith Labour are a shambles...not because of Corbyn, he isn't even hard left, but because the labour party has not only backed a candidate that is pro privatisation and pro austerity, they're openly cracking down on the democratic process of electing a leader in ac way that the Grand Old Party of GW Bush couldn't dream of attempting Being diet Tory isn't being Labour If u think it is you've ignored the defeats of Brown Miliband and the death of Scottish Labour On a side note Scottish Labours plan to win back voters was to appoint the editor of the Scottish Daily Mail as their PR guru **** me
Scottish labour leader Kezia Dugface backed another loser in Smith. So much for Scottish Labour getting back to socialism.
Hope the Labour Party break up and ensure a Golden Decade of Conservatism. please log in to view this image
No one "likes" Gordon Brown. Not even the people of Kirkaldy really liked him. And I use the term people loosely. Pretty sure they only crawled out of the sea like ****ing mutant sea scum they are pretty recently.
