So sorry to hear that mate. Sadly his passing won’t even be recorded in the statistics of the pandemic, but the virus was certainly to blame.
Yep still a bit shell shocked actually. Looking back at his last few FB posts it is apparent what he was going through, but how many times do we just hit like and move to the next. Feel sorry for his estranged kids aged 10 and 13. Before all of this he really looked like he had turned the corner, started contracting again etc. There will be many more as you say that won’t be killed by the virus directly.
Which surely begs the question, why so much hate? At least you are out of it. Must be far less painful watching from afar.
Less ****ing painful what a stupid comment for ****s sake, pathetic to use a word you have in the past. I have family and friends directly affected. Two with cancer similar age to me (70). One for whom the immune therapy which was working well now not so, needs chemo but can't be scheduled until this **** is over. Another on chemo whose therapy has had to stop. Others suffering across the board as the rest of the country is. I can't travel to see them in what may well be the short time that's left, can only hope I'm able to as soon as restrictions are over. Hate, that's your word. I prefer loathing the inept performance of Johnson and his cronies and would have scrutinsed and criticised any government whatever shade. As I do any institution and individual on whatever topic. I particularly dislike the apologists for the last ten years of austerity which has left the heath and social care, police and probation service, fire and rescue and the rest the list goes on. Out of it? What on earth! Do you think the Netherlands is unaffected? Or my wife's family in Indonesia, those in Australia and elsewhere we're missing. The whole ****ing world is in it. If you've taken offense at this or any other of my posts, good it was intended!
I’m watching from afar from a fairly comfortable position but almost everyone has friends or family or someone of significance in a place where it’s far worse. There’s no way of looking at America and UK without intense disgust at how it’s leaders have handled this so far. If anything it’s worse because you can see how other countries have taken aggressive, cautious action early on and made the distinction of “**** this, shut it all down and save as many as you can”.
I have, as many on here have, worked, travelled and volunteered in various places Africa, Asia and the former Soviet Union, besides in the UK and Europe. Best we leave there I've better things to do.
