Given that everyone's desperate for Jun 21, this is a bit of a mixed message from BJ!

The PM says “we don't see anything currently” to stop England unlocking from Covid rules on 21 June, but "we may need to wait"

IMHO It's an impossible job right now for whats its worth.

 

The whole idea is no decision until 7 days before every step change date.

It’s actually sensible (probably as it was pushed as a scientific solution, not necessarily a political one)

 

But he's saying 2 conflicting things at once. (1) So far so good for the 21st, (2) the increasing rate of cases might put pressure on the 21st. In my view he should be saying one or the other followed by a 'we're monitoring the data daily' message. Wouldn't surprise me if the 21st is becoming very high-risk and he already knows that.

I can’t say what I think he should be doing without straying waaaaaay beyond the political line.

Cases,hospital admissions and deaths are creeping up and now Boris is saying it’s possible full re-opening will not go ahead now in June.
