I’m sure if he was alright, he would have been on here. Dai was always thick skinned, so he would have relished the stick he would have got.

We have the vaccine he just doesn’t think it is that urgent to get it out. His words this is not a contest or a sprint well guess what drakeford yes it is. The sooner we get it out the better.

    Todays classic

The First Minister said Wales was using all the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine, which is made in the UK and can be kept in a fridge, as they get it. But he defended keeping back tens of thousands of doses of the Pfizer vaccine that had been given to Wales as he said it had to last until the beginning of February.

"We won't get another delivery of that until the end of January, probably the beginning of February," he said. "We have to use that over that six week stretch. It would be logistically very damaging to try and use all of that in the first week, and then to have all our vaccinators standing around with nothing to do for another month."

Wales had received 250,000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine, which is made in Belgium and has to be stored at -70C, as of last week but had used less than half. In total, only 126,375 people had received their first dose of either vaccine by Friday last week.

Can you tell me the logic of not giving them out quick because we will run out as no new ones arriving till February, just get them out it doesn’t matter if we spread them out or get them out quicker that is the number we have and by getting them out quicker we may just save a few lives, if one person dies because of him delaying then surely he must hold some blame for that death. I am staggered that the media allow him to just get away with it and not vigorously challenge him.

Contradictory in the extreme, "we're using up all the vaccine" then when questioned he comes out with his now famous statement "don't have people standing around with nothing to do. We will use all the vaccine we have, in the time that we have it for, and as more comes on track we will use that as well." beggars belief that no one is pressing him .

    Now this today

The Welsh Government has insisted it is “not holding back” doses of the coronavirus vaccines.

Earlier today, Wales’ First Minister Mark Drakeford defended holding back thousands of doses of Pfizer coronavirus vaccine

That was backed up by education inister Kirsty Williams, who told the briefing that the vaccines were being distributed “in a careful way”, in order to maintain efficiency and minimise wastage.

She said: “We are not holding back on any supplies of the Pfizer vaccine or the Oxford-AstraZenica vaccine.

“We are distributing Pfizer in a careful way to ensure there is infrastructure in Wales to deliver it safely and most efficiently, avoiding wastage because it is such a precious resource.”

Ms Williams also said that roll-out had expanded significantly within the past week, and distribution of the vaccines that have so far been made available had been a success.

Tell my parents who are late 80’s and heard nothing and even their doctors surgery have said they have no idea when they may be eligible, yet England are on to the 70’s
