Looking at the big picture, as some have mentioned, if the Windies have some new young guns coming thru, it can only be good for cricket as a whole. The days of Richards, Garner, Loyd etc seem so long ago.
Well done burns and Jennings 56 without loss at close. What a weird test 18 wickets fall on day 2 none on day 3..... Still it's doable....
England only need 3.1 runs an over to win this test, if they go 20/20 they'll win this by tomorrow evening.
Jennings out with an awful shot, but Burns did well. Shame he got out just before lunch, it would have been a good session for England with only one down.
That was a poor dismissal, Bairstow shouldn't of been anywhere near that ball. Stokes survives an LBW appeal. 150 -3
It's odd because on the beeb text one commentator described it as an innocuous ball whilst another said it wasn't innocuous as it was into his ribs and tucked him up!!!!!!! Then the one who said it wasn't innocuous also said that Stokes hadn't hit the ball on the lbw he overturned on review.........
It's not looking good now. Our only hope of saving this test is to get Michael Atherton out in the middle.
The top 4 have all got a start, even Jennings although he only scored 14 but he occupied the crease for a decent length of time, but nobody seems to have the gumption to play a long innings and keep the scoreboard ticking over thereby getting the bowlers tired........poor from Root, dismissed in last over before the drinks break......
195/4 Stokes and Buttler batting.......they still need to be batting at the close tonight. Something else to consider......in almost 5 sessions since start of 3rd day only 4 wickets have fallen for almost 500 runs, England "only" need another 420 odd to win in 4 and a bit sessions.........simples
2 poor dismissals before tea see England 6 down.....4 wickets for a non spinning spinner!!!!! Scambled minds
