Yeah, after watching the first two sessions of day one til gone 3 and suffering for it, I was determined not to be tempted last night. I kept bloody waking up every half hour (initially, but later on was just snoozing for a few minutes) checking the score on my laptop which I had upstairs. May as well have bloody stayed up and watched it.
First ODI in Bangladesh, Eng chasing 210, under pressure at 62/3 on a turning pitch with uneven bounce.
Steady away today. Roy gets his 100 at about a run a ball. Like to see them put their foot down now and aim for 280+ total.
They did indeed and got 40 more than that, easily defending 326. Curran and Rashid (again) the pick of the bowlers with 4 wickets each. Impressive series win. Bangladesh are certainly not the whipping boys they used to be, particularly at home, and this is their best format
English Cricket's in a good place at present in all formats of the game, amazing how things can change, the Test team were awful a year ago.
Got up at 6 to watch and settle down for a Sunday morning and early afternoon of cricket, it was nowhere to be seen, then realised the next game is bloody tomorrow isn't it?!
new zealand declared their first innings against sri lanka at 580/4. the innings included two double hundreds. kane williamson (215) and henry nicholls (200no) added 363 for the third wicket. sl 26/2 at the end of day 2.
i'm not really a fan of t20, but i can see that it's carrying over to other formats in interesting ways. that said, viewers might be interested by the closing overs of an ipl game a few days ago. kolkotta knight riders needed 205 to beat gujarat titans. they needed 50 off the last 4 overs the next over began with a hat-trick. they needed 48 off 3 overs. then they needed 39 off 8 deliveries. this is the commentary on the innings; you'll see the good bits if you scroll back to the 15th over, though you'll get some clues while scrolling... https://www.espncricinfo.com/series...rs-13th-match-1359487/ball-by-ball-commentary
