Alright Reds, There was a lot of talk last season about his future which had appeared to have run its course with his many injuries and apparent lack of commitment during games (whether that is actually true is debatable). But is looks like he is staying. Klopp has said he's in the best condition since he arrived as boss. In the preseason vids he looks very much part of the team, training hard and doesn't appear like a man who knows he's about to be sold. Looks settled. How do we reckon next season will go for him? What do you expect from him?
I frankly don't think he's got the explosiveness to really be a first team player week in week out. I think he will be playing 30/40% of games and on bench coming on.
he does but will he sulk if not picked? will he be satisfied with that amount of games or want to start in CL etc. what is klopp's formation and line up... i have no clue yet... the only think i thin is he can't play 2 games a week.
Not sure on his formation either. I just reckon if he gets given an early chance and scores then he has the potential to go on a run of games which could be really useful for us like a couple of years back.
Great player when fit, it's now up to him to prove that fitness and make himself undroppable. Think people forget he's human and can't always have a smile on his face. I can kind of sympathise - his injury record pisses us off immensely, im sure it does the same for him 10 fold
We need bodies with the European games so he can fit into a larger squad where he isn't expected to play all the time. The strategy will be to use other players from last season and new signings to be the mainstay of the first team and have quality to rotate in when appropriate or necessary. This places less strain on Sturridge's physical fitness which has obviously become a big issue for him. For all the various issues we have with him the guy scores goals and has pure talent. There's no denying his ability just his fitness (and attitude I guess, but if he's happy with the new role and set-up as seems to be then all good) A luxury option then
Daniel Sturridge must change his attitude to save his Liverpool career, insists Anfield legend Graeme Souness Read more at http://talksport.com/football/danie...er-insists-anfield-legend#5Y0FODCihzajKxAC.99 http://talksport.com/football/danie...e-his-liverpool-career-insists-anfield-legend
He's a finisher which our team does lack. For all the good Mane/Firmino/Origi can bring, they need a few chances to score. Sturridge when starts has a very good rate of scoring. Coming off the bench i feel he's not his best in getting into the game. Start him against the mid table teams and he will score.
The formation used on the final day with coutinho in midfield and 2 up top would be interesting to see again.... but with salah and mane i dont know how it would work. Perhaps salah wirh sturridge and mane in no 10 and coutinho and a box to box cm behind that.
It is, it is narrow but you'd feel that two up would worry a massed defense more than lads running away from goal Equally though a 343 might be even better if sides sit really deep.
