Any fans of British hip hop and rap (at least of my age, slightly older) will have probably known about MF Doom, one of the best rappers out there over the past 20 years. Apparently, he died back in October, but the family have only now revealed so. RIP.
There’s a documentary on the iPlayer about five teenage lads from Markinch who all lost their lives at Ibrox. A gut wrenching watch. Yet 18 years later, society allowed Hillsbroough to happen. Shameful.
Mentioned in the Dalglish documentary on sky docs. Kenny was there that day. He was at heysel and hillsborough too. Not a lucky man in some ways
I remember that day well.My uncle Jimmy from Beverley(Scotsman from Govan who married my mum's sister) always went North for New Year and to attend the old firm Derby. When the News started to filter through that evening there was a lot of anguish and worry, thankfully he wasn't on stairway 13 and got home safe.
Yes, seemed a terrible tragedy. Especially for those from Markinch who all knew each other regardless of club colours.
Gerry Marsden aged 78. Some memorable songs including, Ferry Cross the Mersey and You’ll never walk alone. Guess there will be a lot of tears in Liverpool tonight!
