    RIP Assem,
Even though we had some ups and downs under your stewardship, thanks for coming in when you did. Thanks for the donations that have helped many in our area whether it be equipment, or R&D or otherwise.
    condolences to family and friends.

Hard to believe she was 71. Still too young. Obviously excellent in cheers and she made one sexy Vulcan.

The mould-breaking and hugely charismatic tennis coach Nick Bollettieri has died aged 91.

The New Yorker guided 10 world number one singles players, including Andre Agassi, Maria Sharapova, Monica Seles and Boris Becker.

The last British member of 617 Squadron, Johnny Johnson has passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at the age of 101.

George Leonard “Johnny” Johnson was born on the 25th of November 1921 and joined the Royal Air Force in 1940.

In 1943 he was selected to be part of 617 Squadron at RAF Scampton and to take part in Operation Chastise, more commonly known as the Dambuster Raids.

He finally retired from the RAF in 1962 as a Squadron Leader and became a teacher in Torquay where he lived with his wife Gwyn until she passed away in 2005. He also became a local councillor for the conservative party.

A campaign was launched for Johnny to be given a knighthood, a campaign that was backed by Carol Vorderman, which ultimately failed but he was made an MBE.

He, and bomber command as a whole, didn't get a campaign medal either, disgraceful.

He'd said that if awarded one he'd want it dedicating to all the 55k bomber air crews who died in WWII. That's a death rate of 45%.

My friend Chris Allison . Those that lived in Sourh Cave will know him. Leaves behind a daughter and a wife. Always the funniest guy in the room. Heartbreaking.
