"The prospective new owner added that there would not be any "major updates" this weekend regarding the takeover. However, he suggested next week would bring big news for the club."

It has to be done by the 7th May or another 15pts deduction

Also from what I have read it also depends on what happens to the ground which will be still owned by Morris, from what I have seen the council are in talks with Morris about buying the stadium & I doubt he will get 80millon for it either

I suppose Derby FC will have to rent the ground then, from someone? Could be dodgy, if the owner of the ground has no interest in football. ??? back to my original suggestion about selling the ground and building a new, smaller but extendable, stadium with the profit; that's if Kirchner were to buy it at a knockdown price. Kirchner could be discussing with Derby County Council some options right now

Councils are always moaning that they are skint and why should council taxpayers bail them out? :steam:

Because the council don't want to get the blame, look at the trouble Bury going out of business caused.

    STOP PRESS

Takeover in limbo with the stadium being the stumbling block.

It is now 7th May and I bet they don't get that 15 points deduction

I see Derby's admin has been pushed back a week from the 7th to the 14th

Chris Kirchner has only provided proof of funds for the next two years as he looks to complete a deal to buy Derby County.
Former owner Mel Morris still has control of the ground but Kirchner has made it clear that he will only continue with this deal if the stadium is included.

Although the deadline was missed by a mile, there will be no points deduction. They should be back in the Championship next season. EFL have set a precedent here.

Unexpected bank holidays slowing things down :emoticon-0100-smile

What is happening re Wycombe's claim? I read somewhere that it should be less than 5 figures. Bit of a change from estimated losses of £15m- £20m and a realistic claim for a tangible loss of £6m. I wonder how much Middlesbrough got of their £45m claim. At least they got theirs, I think

Beginning to wonder if Rob has given up. Strange the news on this dried up
