I used to be good mates with Gerry Daly and he played against Pele, Maradonna, Eusabio and with George Best. He told me that not only was Maradonna the best player he'd ever played against it was like trying to get the ball off 3 blokes when he had it.
Circa 1995. He wanted to sign another AM to excite the fans. He also wanted Zidane when he was at Bordeaux
Gazza was the best teenager I have ever seen. His confidence at that age and his ability were outstanding especially given his age and the somewhat limited team mates he had eg clip from Chronicle recalling Gazza’s debut sums it up. “It’s now 30 years since manager Jack Charlton sent the 17-year-old on for George Reilly during a 1-0 win against QPR at Gallowgate towards the end of the 1984-85 season.” Others included Pat Heard and Tony Cunningham.
Tbh I like this list and actually you could rearrange them in any order because in their own right they where just class. Still think your missing an obvious choice though mate. I will give you a clue...... he played for us..... ST!
