It doesn't make any sense adding in a DOF. What the owners have done is strip cost out of the club, now they are adding in another tier of cost. Very un Allam like.

Maybe changed his mind now no premiership /championship wants him as manager.

After his display last season I can't see many clubs wanting him as a manager

    Painful to rewatch that.

There was a really embarrassing vid of Elton John sounding like he was from Allo Allo. It was after Versace died (I think).

    Joey Barton obviously too.

It'll be part time. I can't see him stepping down from his role as trophy ceremony photobomber.

He'll have just heard the first part from Roman, and think he's got a job helping a slut out.

Got to say I like that model. And to be fair to Ehab he has previously said thats the direction he wanted to head to.

It at least gets him out of the recruitment business (except for writing the checks) and gives us a model that many top European teams use.

It will be difficult to bring on two senior appointments that both fit in with the club's footballing philosophy!

With that in mind, we'll be getting three more goalkeepers in - all on loan, and three more goalshy strikers - all in on loan.

I'll be amazed if they're not both coming in having already met and agreed roles.

This would make sense if we're hiring a foreign manager with no direct experience of English football, and the DoF has experience/knowledge of both the PL and Championship level leagues. The manager tells the DoF what kind of players would fit his team style/tactics/philosophy and the DOF uses his knowledge to flush the players out.

Foreign, or otherwise, that's how it works; or is supposed to work.

I know that. It would be more appropriate pairing up a British based DoF with a foreign manager with no direct experience of English football is the point I'm making.
Edit. I fact, if it is Slutsky coming in, I wouldn't be surprised if Abramavitch advised him to lobby for a director of football during the negotiations with the Allams
