Hopefully, it's Joe Kinnear - bags of experience as a DoF. We will definitely stay in the Championship for just one season with Joe in place and then it will be on to League One.
I understand your point, but I believe it is innocently contrived. DoF has a job to do and the manager (head coach?) has his - or hers. We have an international league (top two tiers) and there are Pros and Cons.
Just pray it's not that Darren tosser, who Ehab brought in and Bruce kicked out, he's currently unemployed.
I got it. I'm still keen to understand this footballing philosophy. I think you can officially 'Whoosh' OLM.
One interesting thing, could be purely coincidental. But the one name which had seriously been mentioned in terms of DoF is Steve McClaren. It makes sense to have him in a non coaching role. But the only realistic transfer target we were seemingly linked with was Danish, Fenerbache Centre Back, Simon Kjær. In 2010 Simon Kjær signed for Wolfsburg who were manager by Steve McClaren. As I said, it may well be purely coincidental, but it may not.
Apparently, we've offered someone the job of Director of Football, no news yet on who it is, or whether they've accepted it.
Christ on a bike. Only McLaren would be even close to being acceptable. I still think it'l be someone left field.
Thing is, the way Ehab works, everything going through him, you can't buy a new box of staples without running it past him, how can this work? I mean it's unclear what the DoF role will be, but if it is to sort out transfers with other clubs, I just can't see how Ehab will be kept away entirely and won't be pulling his usual stunts where the price changes last minute and we lose out on the player. The other possibility is that he's the one picking the players, which is always a bad idea because the person responsible for the team's performance should always be the guy picking the players to sign.
It seems he'll be in charge of negotiating the deals and signing the players that Slutsky picks out. As with any club, the owners will sign off on any deal though.
