It hadn't occured but now that you've brought the thought - I think you make a decent point - past events and actions seem to support it anyway. That said, it is possible that McClaren has his own relationship with the Allams, which might give him an extra advantage. However, if the Allams appoint McC on top of Slutsky, that's (presumably) a lot of wedge in wages. Could be the marker of a new approach from the top, or alternatively, if it turns out to be that Darren ****er (mate of Ehabs), it's then again - the same old story. Word will travel oh so quickly, so I hope they travel first then lean towards this time.
That Darren ****er (as you call him) is a good lad - I assume you know nothing about him. He's definitely not DoF material though
About a year ago wasn't it? Ex school friend of Ehab's or something? Can't remember exactly what he did, but I recall less than positive comments at the time
Cheers. Good mates with Rowett. He gave him a job at brum. Surprised he didn't take him to derby with him.
It was longer ago than that, he was Ehab's snitch when Barmby was in charge, Bruce got rid when he came in.
You’re right. I don’t know anything to much about him – just a little suspicious with him (apparently) being so close to Ehab. The ‘****er’ part was in absence of me remembering his surname, a little impolite of me though I grant you.
Darren was hired around the same time as (I think just before) SB to give the Allams some assistance on the football side of things. When SB wanted to bring in Alex Bruce, Darren highlighted that Alex's injury record wasn't great and it was a big risk. Once SB got wind of that he insisted Darren leave, so he did - he'd only been at the club a short time. He didn't have anything to do with Barmby moving on, that was all The Allams doing. I liked Alex Bruce as a player but I think Darren's assessment on AB was pretty good
Most of the time his injurys were caused because he went whole heartedly into tackles, some of which the rest of us wouldn't dare attempt. I'm not sure that can be held against him, in fact I applaud him for it.
I agree with you. Although the fact he got injured regularly (regardless of the cause) was a fair comment - given it cost Darren his job.
