Hope those prawns are fresh from Oz, sb! We're paying about $25 a kilo for massive Super King prawns caught overnight from the local trawlers at present. The last batch were simply too big tbh. If you open your thumb and first finger to the max, that's the size they were. The standard kings are a bit more easy to eat and peel ........... a little less tough but there all still delicious, of course.
I’ve pretty much been cutting out the carbs as much as I can since the New Year, so most meals have comprised cooked chicken or pork with vegetables and gravy. Skipped breakfast and a tin of soup for lunch. The hardest thing has been Dry January and confining alcohol since to only Friday and Saturday evenings. Have lost nearly two stone and about 10lbs to go to hit my target weight. (The ridiculous BMI still has me as ‘obese’ at my targeted weight, a category above ‘overweight’) I try not to read this thread too much because there’s too much good (bad!) food for me at the moment.
If the cap fits..... I don't do code - if I wanted to call you that, I would. I did Dry January - quite easy. I don't drink anyehere near what I used to, and if I'm at home hardly touch it but when I'm working away and there's **** all else to do it's easy to just pop down the nearest boozer and have a few
Well done buddy. I too have been watching more closely what l eat since Xmas. A balance of Mediterranean & seafood diet has been in order. Salad and fish, tuna fish in water, to be precise. I see food, I eat it! Ha, l make bigtime joke! Seriously, all take away has been banished, only Poppas pizza ( made by oneself ) from lightly dosed, quality ingredients. I've dropped 8 kilos and seem to be sitting at this current weight, for which l'm more than satisfied. A tad under six foot and 83 kilos, a handsome stud muffin with plenty of money! Ok, l lie with the last parts of the sentence but the weight is good and the balance seems right. Of course, still have the odd G & T on a Friday night.
Good skills, Oz. I can't do 'new money' weight particularly well, but it seems I still have a long, long way to go to get down to your 83kgs.
It’s all good, mate. If you too are a babyboomer, good looking and well hung, you make the grade! Ok, l better go now……
Roasted cauliflower - who knew? Tonight's dinner was roast chicken with roast spuds and cauliflower, plus random green stuff. The secret being that the potatoes and cauiliflower are roasted under a grill beneath the chicken, thereby taking on its juices. The chicken was good, the spuds were good, but the cauliflower was sensational. A Jamie Oliver recipe, apparently.
Friday, l was down to 81.3 kilos. After my Friday night pizza feast, back up the 83.7. over the weekend. Back to healthy salmon & beans tonight.
Who else is in the midst of preparing roast lamb with all the trimmings? The rosemary and garlic smell great, slow cooked rolled shoulder of lamb…….. Wine ponces - a glass of robust Primitivo is giving me energy.
**** me, you start the bevvie early! We're doing buffet canapes, wraps, sarnies and a mountain of cakes
