Just read DH's article in the journal..I have to say I think he's spot on..there is no excuse for a manager who cant motivate players and sadly, as I like what poyet has been doing overall, he is definitely not getting the best out of the players...and it is passing the buck to then blame the club / the players or some phantom jinx.
They shouldn't need motivating. £20/ 30 / 40k per week should be motivation. Professional pride should be motivation. x
Disagree, motivation at Newcastle/Southampton around now will be hard. Their seasons are over In our position their should be no need for motivation, and it's just letting the players off the hook by saying the manager should motivate them, that's bollox imo. If the players can't motivate themselves to play well in games that truly matter to us then that's why we're going down.
Surly the fact that 4 managers have failed to motivate these players shows it's the players and not the managers. But yeah Don, blame the man who's had one transfer window with limited funds. Don is just being a Typical Mag trying to fuel the fire.
Don Hutchinson's only motivation was money that's why he left Sunderland. I don't think Poyet can motivate the players cause most of them couldn't give a ****
I think he's losing it and needs the season to be over, go get his opp, reflect and come up with a plan, its all clearly getting to him
Mate atm i'm completely disillusioned My parents taught me that if you have nothing nice to say then say nowt! Hence my lack of posting lately! We're in freefall and the signs aint good
Disagree with that. As Bonny Bobby said, professional pride should be motivation enough, even if you know you are going to finish mid table.
Couldn't disagree more. Of course a player would have this point of view but I'm sorry, there's no excuse for a player who's being paid sickening amounts of money (50x what I earn as a school teacher) to play the game they love and not giving everything for the club/fans. Piss off, Don, you're as out of touch as they are.
It should be, but evidently looking at Newcastle and Swansea last year it isn't enough, at the end of the day I think lack of motivation from the manager is a poor excuse for poor results/performances. I guess it boils down to the attitudes of the players. The ones with pride and ambition will want to win every game, the ones who lack pride and/or ambition will be happy to slack off when they're safe
