Sorry to lose Nige, nothing else to add without repeating myself but hope Manning gets the backing he desires.
It feels like any success we may have is despite the board, not because of it. Sad it’s come to this really.
I think the owner has been a mill stone round the clubs neck for decades and has severely hampered our chances of success on the field The stadium has improved out of all recognition to when I was a kid, but it seems to me that all that matters to Steve Lansdown is making money and being content with being also rans
He does put money in most seasons to cover losses, but I wonder whether that’s only necessary because of poor decision making by the “board”. I do believe his heart is in the right place, just he’s a bit clueless about running a football club.
Most of us have said before that the problem with the Lansdowns is their need to micromanage - to impose their own ways on the running of the football club, which works fine in the world of financial services, but football is very different. They need to look at themselves when we are still bumbling along in the Championship despite their substantial financial injection and other clubs have got to the Prem with far less money. Mind you, as Ive said before - I suppose being frustrated about being a solid Championship side IS progress after all those years in the 3rd tier.
