I’m sick of seeing folk on Twitter calling for Dubravka to be dropped. Appreciate they are likely the same bellends who go to away games and spew after 4 cans of Stella.

No wonder we get called fickle at times when these lads or lasses have access to the internet.

    Two questions for them....

1- who starts instead of him?
2- have you watched many games in the past year or so?

He’s won us more points than he’s lost us but knee jerking Russian steppes dancing ain’t the way to deal with a couple of blips.

Ffs some folk are never happy.

    Rant over.
    Have a nice day.

    Agree 100%

However, he certainly was not fouled in my opinion. Maybe nerves got the better of him. Hopefully Rafa is having a quiet word that we will never get to know about with him. Still our player of the season by a country mile.

Bit like the minority of Sunderland fans wanting to sack Ross at present.

He should have dealt with the cross, he really should have. He should have fisted it away. So for me it wasn't a foul BUT if it was the other way it would have been a foul.

However, what is more important was the fact that there was a foul on Almiron just beforehand that should have meant we had a free kick.

Rafa shows what he thinks about the ref

this is the same ref that gave a very soft penalty aginst us when Salah went down as though he had been shot

    Absolutely.
Every club has a cluster of cockwombles. Best thing to do is laugh at them and call them out.

No. I am saying it wasn't a foul IMHO. And that yes as a result of it not being a foul he should have fisted it away.

so you don't think putting his arm around his face is not a foul ??
    wow

check out the gif posted on the match day thread
Boly jumps too early and his arms come across Dubravka's face on his way down as Dubravka jumps up
all before the ball gets there, the ball then hits Boly in the chest
you know what they say "if you take your eye off the ball for 1 second" well Bolys arms where enough
for Dubravka to lose sight of the ball as it's coming down

I have seen the gif. I do note what your saying and frame by frame it looks like his view was restricted albeit briefly. However in real time it would have been a fraction of a second so I still don't think it was enough to give a free kick and for the ref to spot it would have been very difficult.

I still think he should have done better.

    Direct free kick

A direct free kick is awarded if a player commits any of the following offences against an opponent in a manner considered by the referee to be careless, reckless or using excessive force:
    • charges
    • jumps at
    • kicks or attempts to kick
    • pushes
    • strikes or attempts to strike (including head-butt)
    • tackles or challenges
    • trips or attempts to trip
If an offence involves contact it is penalised by a direct free kick or penalty kick.
    • Careless is when a player shows a lack of attention or consideration when making a challenge or acts without precaution. No disciplinary sanction is needed
    • Reckless is when a player acts with disregard to the danger to, or consequences for, an opponent and must be cautioned
    • Using excessive force is when a player exceeds the necessary use of force and endangers the safety of an opponent and must be sent off
A direct free kick is awarded if a player commits any of the following offences:
    • handles the ball deliberately (except for the goalkeeper within their penalty area)
    • holds an opponent
    • impedes an opponent with contact
    • bites or spits at someone
    • throws an object at the ball, opponent or match official, or makes contact with the ball with a held object

No, no and thrice NO! If he punched it forwards, it could have easily gone to a Wolves player and been a goal, if he punched it backwards it's a corner and they get another attack. He catches it and the game is over (was the 5th minute of 4 mins injury time after all). He goes up to catch it, and Wily Bony (cousin of Dick Hardy) puts both arms on him, impedes hims and stops him catching it. Blatant foul.

Dubravka's clangers this season have been vs Spurs and Man U, this was a foul.
