Did anyone hear Hodgson after the match. "I thought we passed the ball too much and should have played more direct". The key to International football is keeping the ball and dictating the tempo of matches. We were poor tonight. If our tactics are to sit back and get 10 behind the ball against the International might of Norway then God help us. Having said that we did defend well and it might be a bit early too judge this Hodgson England side (or more accurately reserve side). But what concerns me is that there were basic footballing fundamentals that we didn't do. When you have the ball, then you expect players around to be moving into space, wanting to receive the ball, creating triangles in midfield but the gap between the central midfielders and the front four at times was absolutely ridiculous - how are you supposed to play positive, passing football when there isn't an attacking player within 40 yards of you? But as I said, it wasn't a full strength side and Roy probably needs more time to generate some cohesion in the way we play with the ball. Also, seeing that Germany and Holland both lost, maybe I'm reading too much into this game. And what is it they say; good teams play badly and win...
Gareth Barry now has as many international caps as Glenn Hoddle. Joke Barry has over 50 caps and Scott Parker only has around 10-15 caps Thats a joke
Same old rubbish because by and large it's the same old players and style, still a win is a win and hopefully we will play better against better teams, sound familiar?
I think the aim should be for England the try and win Euro 2016. We dont stand much chance of doing anything now or in Brazil in 2014
