Lovren bamboozled by the run on first goal, booked and lucky the ref turned a blind eye to his petulance when kicking the ball away. Clyne, booked. Lallana, subbed.
Action of a real big club. Maybe the coach smashing reception committee are still on tired out from all that bottle throwing.
Bloody ridiculous of them. Don't they realise that the ManU game will be considered as the last game at Upton Park anyway because it would be the last competitive game. Saints own example: the last game at The Dell is always seen to be the 3-2 v Arsenal. Yet an exhibition game was played thereafter against Brighton & HA using the extinct club Brighton United name, to match the very first game at the ground in 1898. Incidentally, Saints played in the red & white quarters shirt of that season. In 1898 Saints had just changed from the original red sash kit. Hey, look what I stumbled on:
What a performance by Sevilla in an utterly compelling second half. To my mind they have a unique style all of their own. Loved the way they played the ball out of defence, pushed the ball down the channels and then would switch the play from one side to the other, thus stretching the Liverpool defence.. To being downright awful in the first half to briliiant in the second.
I'm wondering if the lack of European football will scupper some of their transfer plans, meaning that they will have to continue to rely on many of the players that went missing, last night, because some of the players they were lining up won't now go there. Even with the Klopp factor, they haven't improved as a team, with regards to consistency, and a lot of that, IMO, is owing to not having a balanced team. They remind me, in part, of a Kevin Keegan type side, that goes out with the attitude of "If you score 1, we'll score 2", but because of their inability to defend consistently well, (says it all that 35 year old Toure was their best defender last night) they are always likely to get caught out. They could do with a Wanyama type player, just for starters, so with Vic still to agree a new contract, another reason for being glad they have missed out on Europe.
Is Klopp all he is cracked up to be ? - I find him entertaining, but last night`s second half showed a lack of tactics and motivation. Everyone seems to blame Moreno (he seemed to do well in this tournament with Seville previously !) - but surely the set-up should allow for defensive cover when he ventures forward, from the defensive midfielders, or the left sided midfield player. And when he wanted to bring Origi on, he wasn`t ready - took ages to get his pads on etc. And the Liverpool fans all went quiet as soon as Seville scored - plastics ! And a lot of the Liverpool players seemed to be resigned to defeat long before the end.
They sank into indisciplined play. Moreno didn't have the best of games and they made him a scapegoat. Beaten by the better team on the night. Trying to take my anti-Liverpool hat off to say that when Liverpool are good they're capable of being very good. But too often they are bloody ordinary, for a club with European pretensions. How the once mighty have fallen.
I don't like him. There's something about him I find weird. Maybe his facial expressions, too much movement? Keep your face still man!
Easy. Watch it on Youtube then download the video. Oh... That last instruction is where it becomes a wee bit too complicated. Want the long explanation.?
The easiest thing to do is PM me your email and I'll send it to you, after downloading it. How's that.?
