How many music fans does it take to change a light bulb ? Eleven . . . . one to change it and ten to tell you that it isn’t as good as the original.
Not many bands are consistently better live than their records would suggest, this is one such, had the privilege of seeing them at their brilliant best many times .
I'd pay a lot of money to see Tom Waits live but he doesn't get out much ... ... heart breaking love ballads, powerful tirades and fun songs like this one. Incredibly talented writer, singer and performer.
Their roadie was from Sunderland, some great nights at the The Bay and Cellar in Shields , Jim King and Ric Gretch ? both inventive multi instrumentalists , who could really play .
Been watching Alice Cooper live at Montreaux in 2005 on sky arts. Played a lot of stuff from the Billion Dollar Babies album...brilliant. This was a late 80's song, but it's a good un. There's two versions of this video, but this is the best one....trust me (.) (.) Or a boring version.
Working, for a decade, in a rock music venue I rarely had to go to see bands, they came to me But Alice Cooper never played there so I went down to Hammersmith Odeon to see the band ... ... it was a fantastic show, top musicians and a great night. Good choice of video mate.
There's a couple of things in the first video that just gives it the edge over the second one..... I seen them circa 1988/89 at the arena...absolutely brilliant live. I guess youre referring to Nottingham Rock City? I would have been in my element working somewhere like that mate...jealous. Bet you've got some stories about your time there.....bet some are un-repeatable as well.
That's it mate, started off as a regular punter but became 'security' so I could go every week for nothing. I'd leave my day job, go straight to the club and usually share the band's catering ... I'd often sleep in a dressing room and let myself out in the morning
