    Luka Modric has overtaken Ferenc Puskas to become the oldest player to play for Real Madrid in the league.
    It's a record that stood for over 58 years.
    He played the full 90 minutes and got an assist in a 3-0 victory.

    It is 5 yrs ago tonight , one of our greatest comebacks , one of my great memories was Hugo running the length of the pitch and slapping an Ajax player round the head as he ran past to celebrate with the team <laugh>

    I watched that in an Arsenal pub in Holloway.
    Someone loudly asked, "What the **** is that?", when Nayim hit it.
    A lot of people covered their mouths in shock when it went in.
    I covered mine to disguise my laughter as I walked out! <laugh>

    Reading an artical on the BBC sports page about the demise of Schalke 04 , who were my favourite German football team for their name alone
    One of the contributing factors was buying Nabil Bentaleb from us for £16 million in 2017 <yikes> how the hell did we get that much for him ???
    And he left on a free on the end of his contract

    Bentaleb's at Lille now and they're going to finish either 3rd or 4th in Ligue 1, which will put them in the Champions League.
    They also got to the quarter final of the Conference League before being knocked out by Villa cheating on penalties.

    It is quite sad about Schalke, though. From signing Raul to nearly getting relegated to 3. Liga. Crazy.
