That's not the answer, if the lunatic can't go to a concert or sporting event it just moves the problem further away. It could be a bus station, a busy supermarket, a packed pub or anywhere there is a large group of people.
Those who object to the profiling of individuals and defend things like the dark web and encryption of electronic communications need to take a good hard look at themselfs and consider that they may inadvertently be assisting the terrorists.

The international terror threat level is decided by JTAC - a branch of Mi5, not politicians. It appears to have been raised due to intelligence gathered during today's investigations.

I searched about my query a couple of posts above.

 

I think there'll be more security at the R1 show than you can shake a stick at - my wife lived and worked in London when the IRA were at their most active, she worked in central London and would stand at bus stops, tube stations etc looking at bins wondering if it had a bomb in it - she never stopped working or going out with her friends, the alternative was to stay at home scared and let the IRA win. Same difference here I think.

Erm, no. The Snooper's Charter is bollocks and people's privacy shouldn't be eroded because sick ****s kill innocents. Increasing the police state whenever **** like this happens is just capitulation and admitting we live in a society of fear.

 

We're tying one arm behind their backs. Unless you're up to no good, what is there to fear?

Sadly lost her life in the bombing

 

A five year old has been confirmed killed.

The eight year old who was named earlier, her mother is in intensive care and doesn't even know.

It seems the attacker wasn't only known to security services but his local community were aware he was being radicalised. There's going to be a lot of questions about how this was allowed to happen.

 

Of course there will be a lot of questions, how many answers there are to those questions is a different matter.

MI5 have been saying for years they can't keep tabs on every terror suspect because they don't have the staff.

Theresa May has raped and pillaged the police service for years,when Home Secretary, to the point that the thin blue line is hardly visible. Now she says they'll have whatever resources they need.

Isn't a main concern the fact that the bomber had access to the technology, knowhow and ability to manufacture this highly effective bomb? This was always the central plank of counterterrorism, to take out the bomb makers, rather than the carriers. Did this guy make his own, or is there a bomb factory making more as we sleep?

As for whether to go to gigs or not, I believe it is a personal choice and should be respected, either way.

 

All you need to know is on the internet, why the host can't take it down is the first question and the those who search for that sort of thing can do so without fear of the police coming knocking on the door because of people like Spook.
