That is an appalling statistic and no sport should have such a human cost as Qatar has. But Blatter can't be held responsible for how Qatar treats its workers.

Life expectancy for males in Switzerland: 79 and 2 months. Sepp Blatter's age: 79 years, 1 month, 19 days.

An expected but utterly unbelievable result. I really hope they arrest Blatter in front of the world cameras one day. Reprehensible man.

And now Blatter has won, he has suddenly changed from trying to be humble, to attacking Uefa and the Yanks. I don't generally get annoyed at big businesses being dodgy, but Blatter is such a slippery eel and really deserves to get shafted monumentaly...

It's the big businesses which will shaft him, as the sponsors hopefully begin to pull out. If the Yanks really want to do some damage they can get all of FIFA under their very imaginative Racketeer Influenced Corrupt Organisations laws. RICO enables them to identify two or three separate incidents of corruption within the same organisation and infer from that that the whole thing is dodgy. It was designed to get the Mafia. Huge and punitive punishments available.

Blatter clearly believes he is untouchable, let's hope that the FBI or the Swiss authorities prove otherwise

Very latest for anyone who has not seen it yet...

'Russia & Qatar may lose World Cups' - Fifa official

Russia and Qatar could lose the 2018 and 2022 World Cups respectively if evidence emerges of bribery, leading Fifa official Domenico Scala has said.

    From the beeb news http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/33041467

I can't see this happening but what do I know?

Anyway, regardless of that it's becoming really interesting now this can of worms is slowly being opened at long last!

What about all those people who have died already in Qatar building the stadia? It would seem very terrible for the memory of those who've already died for Qatar to lose the World Cup now.
Needs the wisdom of Solomon to sort this one out.

That is barely believable! Ignored the basics and tried to show-boat.

John Delaney's trying to wriggle out of the £5.4m bung he took off Blatter to keep him quiet by going on the offensive against him. He said he went into Blatter's office and had an expletive filled row with him over making fun out of him on TV for asking him to allow Ireland to be the 33rd team at the World Cup.( He apparently came out of his office 10 minutes later with five million in check. The only problem is its not listed in the FAI's accounts, nor is the 10 million UEFA said it gave them for hosting the Europa league final two years ago.)

He also said that when he took his Missus to a FIFA conference, Blatter stared at her up & down for 10 seconds before saying "I approve of your new woman" at which point Delaney told him to get out of his face.

This situation is just as bad as the South African bribe IMO

All gone a bit quiet on the FIFA front.

So no news yet about Step Ladder being deported to guantanamo bay for some waterboarding I'm afraid.

I don't know what all the fuss is with waterboarding, I used to do it all the time as a kid on holiday in Woolacombe.

Anyway not liking the sound of this...

Sepp Blatter could make extraordinary move to stay on as FIFA president
