Just watched a great TRUE film about a group of soldiers in Iraq called Kajaki. Dunno if anyone else has seen it, but if you like tense war films this is definitely for you, it was superb. Thanks to the poster that put up the link t'other day for the streaming site afdah.org, I streamed it straight from there in perfect HD quality.
I'll check it out. For some reason I really like this ****e sci-fi horror movie called Dreamcatcher from about 10 years a go or more. It's got Damian Lewis in it. It is proper naff but for some reason I think it's great.
Seriously, it's worth it, puts our lives into perspective too, how lucky we all are. Those boots on the ground are serious ****ing heroes.
Dreamcatcher is a Stephen King adaptation. The adaptation they really needed to do was The Long Walk. I doubt they can really do it anymore with all the other movies like the hunger games etc that they have put out the last few years.
Unsurprisingly, the derivative remake is better than the rip off. My 'on a similar note' was more in reference to the nation of which the originals came from. Personally I am a massive fan of Japanese film.
Some people just do not appreciate film. Its rare that a remake is even in the same ballpark as the original. The remake I want to see is I am Legend where they finally follow the book and make Will Smith's character (in the last remake) the bad guy he is supposed to be.
I just worked out the greater than sign. I had read it as more of a - to show one was connected to the other. I couldn't enjoy the departed after seeing the Asian originals. Which are great. Not many remakes are ever better. I'm sure someone can recall one.
Took my little brother to see the Peanuts movie yesterday, and as a fan of the old specials, I am so glad that it turned out to be such a great film. It retained the spirit of the original and manages to blend both that classic animation and the modern style. It holds on to the spirit of Schultz brilliantly and that was exactly what I hoped for. 9/10 for me, best animation of the year, even better than Inside Out for me, which I didn't expect to be saying. Little bro loved it too.
John Carpenter's The Thing The Maltese Falcon Little Shop of Horrors The Fly True Grit Invasion of the Body Snatchers Some Like It Hot
True it was better. Really though the ending should be him waiting in his prison cell to be executed.
If you're alluding to it being a remake of Kurosawa's Yojimbo, I must disagree, for me Yojimbo is much better.
