http://www.shieldsgazette.com/news/...underland_in_world_s_top_30_earners_1_4232019 Good to see our revenue's rising so much. Hopefully with getting rid of a few forgotten men on huge wages helps keep the outgoings down as well. Given the rumours/expected news of a big new sponsorship deal then that figure should carry on rising.
Six English clubs in the top twenty shows that we're generating more wealth. The problem is other leagues aren't paying out Premiership wages. I mean, it's o.k. talking about £79m, but if 80% is going on wages, it means we're left with about £16m to maintain the facilities and SAFC Foundation. It isn't a lot. Hopefully, Tullow Oil and the rumoured Korean sponsorship will bring a bit more in. I'm not moaning. I think Ellis, Niall &co have us heading in the right direction. But comparing us to other countries is a bit misleading. They don't have our out-goings. A profit league would be more helpful.
Revenue?? Hummm I wonder how they came up with those figures, I can only assume they came from companies house. I would be more interested to see what the turnover, gross and nett profit and loss are. Something does not add up to me: we sold Bent 18m, Henderson 16.5m Gyan loan 6m That's 40m, then you have got gate recipes 18 home league matches average 38000 that's roughly 20m Then sky money 20+ million So we're at 80million before we have even talked about sponsorship, premiership money, cup matches, friendlies, merchandising, concerts, cooperate events and ents. I know they spread transfers over the life of a players contract but still I think the figures are either pie in the sky or were going to be doing even better in the future. The figure revenue does not mean much in the bigger picture.
This is only for 2010-11 so a bit part payment for Bent- what we sent to spurs, Henderson money wont be in it, Neither will the cash we got for Gyan. Our Wage bill was also 54 million in the 2009-10 season, but that must have come down a tad i would have thought. But I cant work out how Newcastle only have 88.5 million, when they sold Carrol in the Jan for 35 million, surely they would make more than us anyway, I can understand how its up 67% as they spent the previous year in the Championship. this is 2009-10 i believe http://www.scribd.com/fullscreen/55741334
What surprises me most about this is how we haven't had Chappy on telling us our finances are ****e compared to theirs, lol.
