i was reading earlier that the flu cases were a lot lower. ......... it was still a shock to discover that Flu was down by 95% this year, ..... the lowest it has been for 130 years. .... so let's ask why,. I myself think it must be the way we have had to change our living habits...............Washing our hands often ..... Wearing a Mask..............and social distancing..................what else can it be, what do any of you think it could be ?
Has anybody here suffered Flu this year.?........ or do you know of any body who has had flu?
Not a nice subject I know, but 95% drop this year, must take our notice. ....... if any of you would be interested, the whole report on Wales on Line this morning..............hell it was hard to believe 95 bloody %.

First time this year I had the flu jab , with no side effects . I'm not surprised really with more people taking personal hygiene as bit more seriously it must have had an impact .I bet a lot of seasonal illnesses have dissipated this winter. But then again people are still dying and its recorded as Covid up to 28 days after being tested positive .

Whilst I've no doubt there are less cases due to all the improved hygiene practices, I'm also sure a lot of Covid attributed deaths are due to other things, like flu.

and there in is the rub, all thrown figuratively speaking into the same hole. Did my mother in law die of Covid or old age ?, she was tested positive once then a couple of weeks later tested again and clear

Yep have to agree with all of you. The decline in Flu diagnoses could be due to improved hygiene, lockdown (keeping ones distance incl. masks) or lumped in with COVID. I suppose we’ll never know, but it raises a few interesting questions heading into next year’s ‘Flu epidemic season’ (e.g. what positive steps taken as a result of COVID can we reasonably enforce to understand whether improved hygiene/ wearing of masks has a direct impact on the most vulnerable in society)?

    Edit: fuk knows.
