My first bet of the season pays off - Fulham a very generous 3/1 pre kick off - HT cash out and £10 is £24. The intention is for this £10 outlay to last all season, it'll probably survive till Sunday.
I know it's Fulham vs Newcastle, a match any other week I wouldn't bat an eyelid at, but it's making me excited, as it means that footy is back. I'm pumped.
Fulham doing well and Newcastle quickly learning this might not be the cakewalk some predicted. I wonder if Everton will find the same thing next season.
That result doesn't suprise me a bit, I kind of expected it. Football has a habit of doing this. Reminds me of us in 2010/11, one of biggest favourites in the leagues history n we lost to Plymouth on the opening day!! I still expect the Toon to win the league comfortably, and like that season in L1... wouldn't be suprised to see Fulham head the other way... Edit: It's for the same reasons that I wouldn't be suprised if Hull turned Leicester over next week!
Well that was rude! Having realised that the FL started tonight with Newcastle playing, I just text my Toon mate the following: "Don't you just love that football is back..." He told me to "Piss off!"
Norwich are like a jar of coffee. Instant returnees to the PL!! If they are promoted they should receive the trophy for the most yo-yos in the past 20 years.
So Bristol City have more about them then!!! Good luck to both teams in this season. It would be terrific for the West of England to get a team in the PL but at the moment it seems a long way off.
Back in 2008 they looked set to go up, as far as I remember we beat them 2-0 late on in the season (the one we stayed up v Sheff Utd on last day) and they ended up missing out on auto promotion
