... by Chelsea. Confirmation expected today. I said yesterday Chelsea aren't a happy club. It was always 'too much too soon' for Lampard. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2021/01/25/frank-lampard-sacked-chelsea/
Not giving him time is a mistake. Club legend. Very good first season under difficult restrictions. Bin him as soon as it blips. Classless.
Over achieved last season and, as always, club takes a jump and regrets it. Think he's going to be a decent managewr personally but should've stayed at Derby
Watched them against Luton and first half they were brilliant I thought, knocked the ball around, one twos galore and some great build up play for their goals although the first one shouldn’t have counted
To be fair mate, every manager knows how things are there ... ... you can be sacked for winning things. Lampard made a mistake going there imo.
I just think you give a club legend more than four months to get his team working. He is only a few points off the champions league.
This.. Man U being the perfect example right now of not sacking a manager the minute things go wrong.
According to Sky Tuchel is to take over 'Lampard to be sacked by Chelsea; Tuchel to take over' http://www.skysports.com/share/12192279
I agree mate, that's how it should be. I just think Lampard looked like he thought he'd made a mistake, he never looked happy there.
Top bloke, feel sorry for lampard. At least he had a go. What the future holds will seem daunting at first but hopefully he finds a club.
You'd think so, but he has spent an absolute fortune this season, with very few signs of any improvement. He was doing better when he just had to trust the lads already at the club. I do think it's a bit harsh, but he got incredibly lucky getting the gig in the first place having been absolutely average at Derby. He only got a chance there because of his name and reputation at the club, so he has to take the rough with the smooth. If you're going to be at a side with those kind of resources, they're going to expect to see a quick return on the £180m or whatever it is they spent. I don't mind Lampard, hope he goes and takes a Championship club again and finds one that will give him time. He couldn't turn down Chelsea, but it was far too much far too soon imo
I've always found him to be deliberately dour and arrogant as if he was doing an impersonation of Mourinho. I can't see him ever managing another top club and always thought he was brought in as an extended caretaker.
