Wycombe Wanderers fans have the exciting opportunity to join the team on a pre-season trip to Northern France, taking place from Wednesday 15th to Saturday 18th July. Fans will be staying in a hotel in Saint Lo - just 20mins from where I live. The team are staying in a hotel even closer to where I live. I'm hoping to get to meet them. Anyone here likely to go? More here
Anyone coming over? I'm going to the match on Thursday and hope to meet up with the team with Amanda and her son
Well we lost and it wasn't a brilliant performance; but it was very hot and it was a friendly. Lovely setting and great complex (took us a while to get out of the playground ). It was worth the short trip down the road just to meet Gareth and some of the team, making it a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Unfortunately not allowed to the meet and greet the team tomorrow as it is exclusive to "those who paid for the trip"; understandable I suppose. Some photos coming soon.
At least he scored yesterday so we may finally sign him up. According to twitter he's a striker. Ron did we have any midfielders on trial?
It was a tap in following some good work by Banton, Rocky. But at least he was in the right place and it created some excitement amongst us all.
What a small world it is. One of the Wycombe fans we spoke to who lives in France knew of Harry (my grandson) as his sister-in-law teaches at the same school. And another fan, who also now lives in France, went to the same school as I did in Wycombe. We also got chatting to some cyclists who made their own way over. Great atmosphere and I still can't believe we were able to travel 15 minutes to see Wycombe Wanderers and get to speak to Gareth and some of the team.
Some good photos Ron. But what is most concerning is that the last two matches you have attended, we have lost both!!!
Sorry folks, there were a few I didn't recognise but it wasn't a game where you could say anyone stood out. It was played at a fairly leisurely pace as it was very warm. We had some good movement down the left in the second half and Holloway seemed to be causing some problems. Some long balls came off when sent wide but the French side had some big players who mainly controlled high balls down the middle. The French side had some speedy players and played the ball very well on the ground. Their long balls to the wingers were generally very accurate. Not sure who it was but one of the Wycombe players chasing back after attacking down the right (second half) was ****ing fast.
Pleased you were able to get along ron, although slasher has a point - if we lose the next game you attend, we may have to ban you! I also wouldn't read too much into a pre-season performance - they rarely mean much more than fitness to the team
