Also Bet365 go 6 places 1/4 odds (only bookie to do so). Not only that but with bet365 extra option you can cover 10 places although of course odds lessen more places you cover.
Good morning one and all and a BIG happy Cheltenham Friday to everyone! Here's my picks for today and hopefully can end on a high after a good week. 13.20 - Quilixios 11/4 win 13.55 - You Raised Me Up 7/1 win 14.30 - Barbados Bucks 9/1 ew 15.05 - Al Boum Photo 9/4 win/ Kemboy 16/1 ew 15.40 - Bob & Co 9/2 win 16.15 - Elimay 5/6 win 16.50 - Galopin Des Champs 8/1 ew
Wouldn't be surprised if trainer Seamus Mullins is having a double at Fakenham today with The Raven's Return (1.10) and Playa Blanca (4.05). Both have easier tasks today with conditions to suit and their talented riders take off 3lb. Yard has had several placed runners recently.
Morning all...hoping we get a few English trained winners today... 1.20pm Tritonic 7/2 win. There could be question marks around Quilixios having changed stables although the favourite does look solid but I ve been impressed with this guy and I feel he can serve it up to the Irish.. 1.55pm Third time lucki 8/1 each way 6 places. Was going to run in the supreme but drying ground will suit and we know his trainer has a good record in this. I really do fancy his chances.. 2.30pm Barbados Bucks 9/1 each way. Looks to be a fine galloper...Paul Nicholls has been quiet so far but maybe he can get on the board here. 3.05pm Champ 6/1 each way. He could be box office and think he will run well here especially if they go a good clip. His jumping looks to have improved. Lostintranslation 40/1 each way. I couldn't believe the price for a gold cup 3rd on ground that will be his cup of tea. Who knows if the Tizzards will have him right but I m chancing they might and he s always struck me as a gold cup horse. 3.40pm Staker Wallace 10/1 each way. Doesnt have much to find with the favourite although it's a question mark over the ground. 4.50pm Dallas Des Pictons 40/1 each way 5 places. Was 2nd in the race 2 years ago and the yard love to target this race. He's been running a lot on soft ground which I don't think is his bag.Wiith drying ground and fact Cheltenham could spark a revival he could run well at a huge price.. Good luck all!
Day 3 was poor but out of jail with a JP L15 all placing in the first 4 races. Day 4: Triumph - Zanahiyr - Looked visually very impressive and jumps slick. County - Third Time Lucki/Thyme White - Skeltons love this race, ignoring last race when he made a bad mistake he's unexposed and on the upgrade. Think Nicholls has primed Thyme White for this, will prefer the better ground than he has been getting. Albert Bartlett - Vanillier - Had the better of Stattler early in the season. Possibly overlooked due to a poor performance at Dublin, but odds reflect that. Gold Cup - Champ/Royale Pagaille EW - Champs performance last time over the inadequate trip was very good, Sceau Royale could have gone closer in the Champ chase if it wasn't for being badly hampered. If he gets into a rhythm he will love this stiff test with plenty of pace at the front. Royale Pagaille has tanked up the last twice, ground is an unknown here but those performances put him right in the mix. Foxhunters - N/A Mares Chase - Shattered Love - Loves Cheltenham and this is her optimum conditions. Just need to hope she has retained enough ability as a 10 year old now. Martin Pipe - Langer Dan - Sneaked in at the bottom. Handicap hurdle + Skelton again.
It will be interesting to see how Royal Pagaille gets on today - I m not sure about his jumping especially under pressure as it will be today. He brushes very close to the top of his fences and that downhill fence in the Gold Cup could be very problematic for him.
My effort today, ew Lucky 15. 1.55 Thyme White 2.30 Barbados Buck’s 3.05 Kemboy 3.40 Bob And Co Have a great day, good luck with yours, roll on Aintree
More irish trained winners, is surely the only certainty today , not that is important to a punter , or the horse , or jockey , I hope they all come back safe n sound !
Day 4. My least favourite day of the festival. 1:20 - Zanahiyr 11/8 & Haut En Couleurs 25/1 Ew (Skybet money back if 2nd, 3rd, 4th). I did have Quilixios at 12s ante post but i part cashed out the bet and then Envoi Allen ruined the rest of it. 1:55 - Cayd Boy 22/1. Small ew on Mengli Khan at 80s. Reverse fc 2:30 - Streets Of Doyen 7/1 3:05 - Champ 13/2 & Kemboy 18/1 Ew. Reverse fc. 3:40 - Chameron 25/1 4:15 - No bet. Had Elimay at 4/1 in a bet ante post but cashed out. Would have only returned £7 more if i'd left it. 4:50 - Frontal Assault 12/1 Highlighted ones are Scoop6/ew Lucky 63/Acca. Good luck all.
Day 4 1:20 - Zanahiyr 1:55 - You Raised Me Up, Cayd Boy & Thyme White 2:30 - Alaphillippe, Vanillier & Torygraph 3:05 - Al Boum Photo, though i also have Minella Indo on AP bets as well 3:40 - Bob n Co, Stand Up And Fight 4:15 - Elimay 4:50 - Fire Attack, Gentleman De Mee & Dallas Des Pictons Been a good 3 days so far, though i've not hit the heights i would have wished for, so lets hope we get a few more good story lines from todays proceedings... Good luck to all...
Only bet today so far is Royal Pagaille win at 14/1 - none of that e/w bollocks Love the way he goes about his business and it would be nice to see Venetia winning the Gold Cup again
1.20 looks to be 3 top class horses but which one wins? Probably with the drying ground Tritonic is the one to take on the favourite. However given that this is the Triumph and anything can happen, and that there are only 8 horses I am also going to have an each way bet on Talking about You at 150/1. Front running horse, 3 wins already this season and she will appreciate the drying ground 1.55 I have narrowed it down to about 10! Of these I like the Skelton horse, 3rd Time Lucky and Ganapathi. Can't rule out Rachael Blackmore of course and with cheekpieces fitted Ciel de Neige has a good chance at 25/1 2.30 My original choice was Stattler but you can't ignore the formlines for Streets of Doyen 3.05 I hope that Al Boum Photo lands the hat trick and if not that Frodon wins for Bryony Frost. You can make a case for many others but maybe the forgotten horse is Kemboy at 16/1 who has had a good season 3.40 Billaway is a worthy favourite 4.15 Elimay will be hard to beat but Magic of Light stands out as a good each way bet 4.50 I always like the Imperial Cup bonus to be won so will be cheering on Langer Dan, the favourite, Gentleman de Mee is also interesting given his age but the formline maybe suggests that Gabyanko is the best bet to round off the festival
Captain Kangaroo now 18/1 1.55pm also looks a real gamble. Beat Kilcruit last March and making its handicap debut. I'll take it on a small an ew bet.
Well lunch today was tinned sardines in a chill tomato sauce, extra chilli added, on toast, to be washed down with the first bottle of Peroni of the 12x I have sat in the fridge...!! Lunch 7/10, drinking beer afterwards, 10/10...!!! Day 4, do your worst as i'll be drunk at the end of it regardless...
