Love how people can't see through things! First promotion - like I said was from playing some pretty decent stuff, Second promotion - was at times dismal to watch and considering the talent at our disposal was what some would call a poor promotion. Getting to the cup final - as good of an achievement as that was! We couldn't have had an easier route to the final, in fact we faced one team from the premier league and that was a poor Sunderland team! It was harder to not get there! Europe - got to that as a result of the above and was wasted by Bruce! When Middlesbrough got to the cup final and lost and then also got relagated the same season, do you think there supporters classed that as a success?
3 promotions to the top flight in 113 years and we're getting sniffy about the 'entertainment' factor involved. Where does this sense of entitlement come from???? Aluko couldn't stand up when he played for us and we were right to get rid. Naturally, like Cairney, he feels he has a point to prove. He was only a notch above Danny Graham when he played for us and was never PL quality. Let him and Tom enjoy their win today. We beat Man U last Thursday, next 3 games Man U, LFC and Arsenal. Fulham for us was a game we could do without, we have bigger fish to fry. Taking the Cup seriously these days is a bit Micky Mouse, even the vermin losing today at Sutton matters not, like NUFC, BHA they want to focus on promo. As for Borough fans, why not go and ask the silly ****s, that's if you can get a word in as they crucify Karanky for his 'too negative' football.
We needed a 2nd promotion because bruce massively underachieved with the squad we had and got us relegated. He sacrificed Europe to avoid relegation.....oooops
I think that's a ridiculous summation. Did you miss previous games? Did you witness the level that isn't aspiration, but what we really played to? Today was one game. We have a well established core of players who just didn't turn up and do the business. Why is something for MS to look at. Having seen some very positive performances you are are telling us that one game makes everything iffy. It always been iffy, we are playing a daft number of games with a very weak squad, MS says it, we should know it. But what really pisses me off is that you make some fair observations, from attending the game, but then judge the incoming (on little evidence) against the outgoing (lots of evidence) who have us fair and squarely in the bottom three.
Those two penalty misses by Hernandez? Dear oh dear. They'll be in football bloopers edition of 'What happened next?'. After tucking away the penalty with such assurance against Man Utd why wasn't Huddlestone taking them, or certainly the second after Hernandez had made a mess of the first. With both his run ups he didn't look confident he was capable of scoring either. Very disappointing to miss not one but both!
Appalling goalkeeping. Let five in against an average Chumpionship team, fortunately one was offside. Flat footed and beaten far too easily. Shocking.
Harry certainly isn't a centre back - looks great charging forward but hopelessly exposed at the back - too slow, too clumsy - not sure anyone would want to buy him on that performance
No, does it ****. We need a keeper who will keep a clean sheet every game and that includes saving every penalty they face. Anything else isn't good enough. MS better get it sorted ASAP.
Getting to the Cup Final........we couldn't have had an easier route to the Final' Yes we could and have. 1970/71, every tie at home and we still couldn't get passed the 6th Rd. This is the first time I've heard of a promotion described as a 'poor promotion' I'd take a punt that there are a whole host of big clubs in the Championship who would take a poor promotion' to the Premier League any day of the week.
By what i have read on here all our keepers are ****, we need to use what little of a transfer budget we have to buy a good one. Only a day and a half of the window left, Ehaw get it sorted.
