We have a lot of injuries and I feel this is a game we could probably do without, I'd be interested in your view on this. I'd like to think we will have a much changed side giving some play time to a few youngsters, I doubt this will be the case. It will likely be a team as strong as those we have available, hopefully no more injuries or suspensions. The league is our priority and not taking part could offer some well needed rest and recuperation time.
Well what a nice surprise... a win, two stunning goals, Arter back, Hector playing, and a debut for Stansfield! Also our Charlton away game will now be moved to midweek meaning I can probably go! I thought Hector was very good, strong and commanding, could of done better for there goal but probably his only mistake all game and wasn’t a horrendous one.
Well well well, our much changed side played very well today, Hector (other than getting the wrong side of his man when Villa scored) had a good solid game. We looked less nervous in defence, not perfect , but some good defending against a good team. 2 worldies, Anthony and Harry doing the business. Young Jay did well near the end and Harry picking up where Big Mac left off. Altogether a great result and in the hat for round 4, COYW's. You may note I'm now up for a cup run, oops.
The best comment on FFC TV commentary today, probably of all time Jamie "Should John Terry be that far out of the technical area", Gentleman Jim"He shouldn't be allowed in the ground" Brilliant!
I just read Jay Stansfield stats and can’t believe them.... Since signing last summer he has scored 21 goals in 12 games for the u18’s.... scored on his u23 debut... won an England call up and now a first team debut.... What a four months for a 16 year old lad
Great win, stunning goals but my highlight was Jay Stansfield's cross at the end which Knockhart was a whisker away from putting in. Good to see Kevin McDonald get a game and our first chance to see Hector, both did well. Villa weren't that impressive, didn't seem to have the fight and I think we thoroughly deserved the victory.
Liked what I saw from our defensive tactics today. Bryan playing with more freedom as a winger and going forward with Odoi as his full back cover. Three solid tackling midfielders in McDonald, Johansen & Onomah allowing Christie to get forward at times. With Mitro & AK rested no real target, so Knockaert and Cavaleiro allowed to roam from left to right with backup from Onomah and Johansen coming through the middle taking turns in the Cairney role..
Great to see us featuring so much on the back pages today! Interesting that our squad had better depth than Vila's
We'll have em ............................................ well maybe ................................... one day
