Still gets me when that bloke on question time who earns over £80k thinks he isn't even in the top 50% of earners. Crazy how deluded some people are. If you are that thick you shouldn't be trusted with that much money imo.

They really don't. I have many friends who are doctors and none of them earn over £60k, the more junior ones who have only been qualified for a few years earn under £40k. Yes if you are a specialist or been in the profession a long time you will be earning around 6 figures, but this is far from common place

As I said before voting goes beyond politics. I believe if you're a part of something and are afforded a vote you should use it.

The average GP earns an average salary of £90,000, but doctors can earn more by linking up surgeries, making record earnings by managing tens of thousands of patients. Figures revealed more than 200 'Super GPs' in the NHS earned more than £200,000 a year in 2015/16.29 Dec 2017

So, if someone gave you the option of being eaten by a shark or a crocodile you would be inclined to choose one or the other because you were given ther choice? No, you decline the options and probably moan about ther dickhead for asking you such a stupid question!

Never gone along with this attitude of you must vote because you have a the right to. I certainly don't like ther idea of a 18yr old that's not got a clue about life blindly voting for who they're parents told them to vote for; red (or blue) rosette on a donkey springs to mind.

If you feel strongly enough one way or the other than vote. If you don't or you strongly object to all options, don't.

Certainly doesn't mean you can't complain either. Having **** options doesn't mean you should accept the least **** one. None of the options are good enough and I'll continue to moan about the ****bags then that supposedly run our country.

My son is a senior doctor (he just got his consultancy) and he isn't within £20k of £100,000.

People's views on taxation tend to alter if/when they move up the brackets. Nobody thinks it's fair for a very high earner to pay the same tax as a low earner. On the other hand if you've worked hard all your life and finally get to earn a high income, you can feel hard done by, having put in years of maybe menial work to now have got a better job and having to pay half your income to Her Majesty.

No the average is 90k. My post talked about senior doctors. Those 200 are referred to as ‘super doctors’.

Reality, whether you like it or not, is tax them more and they’ll work less. Who wouldn’t?

Your crocodile analogy isn't a valid comparison. You're describing a choice. While a vote is always a choice, a choice isn't always a vote. I do get what you're trying to say though.

As for complaining, even those who do vote will complain, even those who voted for the winner. We're human it's what we do. I do believe though that if you aren't voting then you really can't complain if for example taxes go up when one of the parties wasn't going to raise taxes. And yes I know you can't believe a single word that any of them utter anyway. I got my views on not complaining if you were given a chance in deciding the outcome but declined it, from the way I was brought up.

Apologies JB, you got the rant but I've had similar comments from people for a while and it really irritates me. People can do what they want to do, that's it.

I do find it amusing when voters get offended by people who dont vote.<laugh>

Like its a personal slight on them<doh>

Similar to religious peeps, you can never just be a "non believer" they always have to try and swing your opinion because deep down they cannot allow you to not participate. And if you dont your damned ect

Funny really as i see relgion as the 1st form of control, just like politics and the illusion of choice is a form of control.

You are not in charge. You have no say. That would be the only honest campaign slogan a party could say for me.

I don't think I could come up with two worse parties if I tried. Both awful, both lying (obviously) and both will make things worse.

There's no need to apologise for anything, certainly nothing you said to me. You know I always express my opinion and give reasons for it. You've done exactly the same. We just happen to be on different sides on this one <ok>

I'm only speaking for myself here. I'm not offended in the least. I sometimes have strong views on things and express them but I'm grown up enough to accept we all have differences.

Same with religion. I'm a Christian and not shy in saying so but I never force my views on anybody or expect them to bow down to my view. Atheists have different beliefs. Nobody has all the right answers or the right way to live etc etc.and I actually find atheists far more intolerant and pushy in their opinions <laugh>

Think I'd go for the shark, as it would be over quicker. Crocodiles, especially salties, have been known to drag their helpless victims back to their dens and go beck again and again over days to bite chunks off.

Politics: I said at the beginning in November (in the other place, before I got banned) that the bastard Tories would win by 35-40 seats. I still think that. Lightning doesn't strike twice, and there'll be no organised youthquake in cold, raining December either. Missed the best chance in the summer, imho, when they should have formed a GNU for twelve months with a three-way referendum with a run off for next April, with the franchise down to 16, and a GE in June, again with 16 year-old voting age. They couldn't agree on a leader, and I think first the SNP, not giving a **** that the Tories would win nationally as they themselves were so high in the Scottish polls; and then the Liberals absurdly believing they'd be kingmakers in a hung parliament, never appreciating that the Tories were 15 points ahead of Labour in the polls, got over-excited themselves.

Ah well, I'll soon have a blue passport to go with my Irish one, and a Scottish one within five years.
