HDM reporting we are going to bid £1m at the start of the window. Won't be a popular signing but I think it will be a decent buy at that price bringing experience at international and CL level. http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/Hull...ltic-January/story-20380369-detail/story.html
If you go the the celtic forums they dont want the guy. Not sure why we want a player celtic think is to poor even for them.
Personally I think he's cack, but the Celtic fans might just be like Leeds fans with every player who's left them (except Delph) and now plays in the PL.
If he can have the impact that Cousin did for us in our first PL season then I wouldn't be against it, but there has to be better out there than him surely? Especially for that price. Danny Ings would be a better buy IMO.
Wells at L1 Bradford is set to go for £3M, and you've suggested Ings who's scored 17 goals for Championship Burnley as an alternative to a £1M transfer?
I know a couple of Septic ST Holders - they describe him as a player with ability, but someone who can't be arsed most of the time. He's mainly used as a sub at the moment, when he does come on he plays as a left winger. One of them said he was quite quick? Surprised me as he's looked painfully slow whenever I've watched him on the TV. Both said he's not a player they'd be bothered about losing. Neither described him as a 'Striker' or 'Centre Forward', so I don't suspect he would be brought in with the intention of goal scoring. I think he's an alternative to Brady on the left.
I'm owrried he'll make us go long ball. Everyone seems to like our style and we've earned respect around the country but with him and Sagbo we could become very direct. I really dont think he's what we need, for me we'd much better profit from a smaller, nippy type.
yup, we need a goal poacher, a right place right time player, a nippy little bugger, a sniffer, a tap in merchant. for those of you au fait with playground football, what we need......is a 'bog-liner'.
it was the kid at school who wasn't especially good but due to the lack of linesman and no effective offside rule, they just stood on the oppositions goal line and tapped in any long balls or scuffed shots. i may have described Gedo but had i have included the bit 'who Brucey likes' then it would have come up short.
Just reading his career history on Wikipedia and looking at a few videos on Youtube (never the most reliable scouting option, I know), but he seems to score a lot of goals from headers. We were saying at half-time in the Fulham game, that we get a lot of crosses into the box from Elmo, Brady, etc., but there's nobody there who can reliably finish them. Maybe Samaras is that guy? He's not the answer to our striking problems, and Bruce will know that. But surely for 1 million, he's worth a punt and would give us a different option?
Here is a youtube compilation
Please noooooo. Not even as a stop gap. Not if he's free and pays us to watch. Bruce's stated policy is he will spend money on players that are better than we have. How exactly does Samaras improve the squad. His reputation is more inflated than the Greek economy and he's about as much good.
I wasn't suggesting he would cost £1m, just that he would be the better option. Nakhi wells wouldn't be to bad either.
Samaras is ****ing ****. If we sign him I'm booing the scruffy **** constantly and throwing stuff at his head whenever he comes near. What a ****ing ****er.
