No need. I'm employing the FA variation on the principles of justice- I declare it to be true, therefore it is.
I had a flat that was haunted once, when I was a teenager. I'm not a believer in any of that sort of hocus pocus but this was real and unexplainable. I had a first floor flat and there was another flat next door, above the flats was a large attic, which only access point was a staircase opposite the 2 flats front doors. After I moved in I started hearing noises in the attic in the early hours virtually every morning. Heavy footsteps that you could trace going across the ceiling of the bedroom and then over the lounge. It started really pissing me off as it would wake me, and I was getting ready to confront my neighbour. However, I met up with him one evening and we introduced ourselves and we ended up going for a pint. Over a beer he said, listen there's something I need to ask, why do you go in the attic every moring early hours? I was gobsmacked and told him I was about to ask him exactly the same thing. So we decided that someone must be entering the roof space from somewhere. So we sat up on the Saturday night and waited and waited, about 4 am the footsteps started above his ceiling and we traced them going over to my flat, we got a torch and legged it up the attic stairs - nothing. No-one there, no possible point of entry or exit. Unexplainable. We subsequently went and researched the building and found out that it had previously been a funeral parlour dating back to the Victorian era........which made it ****ing worse The noises carried on and I moved the **** out .
The sensible thing to do. If it had been a horror film you'd have stayed and started poking the ghost with a stick.
Did you move due to the noises? Or just another reason? Footsteps seem the most common occurrence in paranormal events. It's weird though, supposedly the 'spirits' can manifest themselves in a way that could produce enough force on the floor to make a sound, yet no real visible proof of their existence is available. Spooky as **** though.
Ghost are pure BS. But interesting BS in terms of storytelling and the psychology and science behind it all. In terms of the scientific point of view it's simple. We now live in an age of constant surveillance yet not one single reliable observation of a ghost has ever been made. There has always been a non-paranormal explanation. If anyone ever did make a reliable observation it would immediately be all over the (non-lizard-controlled) media as evidence of life after death, the person who had the evidence would be the richest person in the world and life as we know it would forever be changed. That hasn't happened.
What kind of boring as **** ghost hangs around the attic of a funeral parlour wearing big boots? First haunt the person who did wrong to you, if no one did then haunt your old house or the place you died. #sortyourafterlifeout
There's a shed load of paranormal unexplained activity out there. Some is patently fake but there's plenty that's genuinely weird imo. What causes them and how it works we don't yet understand, but that doesn't mean all of these phenomena aren't real.
I'm far from a believer and certainly not a fantasist. However, I also don't believe that we currently understand how everything in the Universe works, therefore I do not have a closed mind to paranormal activity.
