I'm off to see Gaz Coombes at Welly tonight. He doesn't play any Supergrass stuff but still should be a good night.
Proclaimers Sunday night City hall - I know it’s not rock but they’re pretty decent at what they do , and they right good working class songs
Not sure if this is the best thread for it but Polar Bear is doing a survey, one of the questions is whether they should open on match days for City and Fc, so feel free to let them know and anything else Polar Bear related. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1_p...N0JggA4GPTUnVHp7u0IRRV_Ag&edit_requested=true
Went to John Cooper Clarke tonight He was as John Cooper Clarke as ever…thoroughly enjoyable. Support Mike Garry and Toria Garbutt were brilliant too.
Jeff Beck memorial concert tonight. Clapton Rod Stewart Ronnie Wood Billly Gibbons The gorgeous Imelda May Excellent Gary Clark Jr Joss Stone and more
Saw Weller in Amsterdam at weekend. Paradiso is one of my favourite venues anyway, and it was a great gig. New bassist for anyone that’s interested. Better IMHO
I'm going to see Inspiral Carpets at Welly tonight. I've listened tonthem quite alot on the walk to this week. But never realised Clint Boon plays the same organ riff in every song
Pulp were excellent in Brid, playing their hits and more with enthusiasm and plenty of rehearsal evident. Good show, with an eight piece string section (might have been more). Great venue too (as many here know) but unventilated so bloody hot. Not sure if that was budget related when last renovated, or noise abatement related (keeping windows shut).
Saw Sparks in Oxford last week. Much better than I expected and hugely entertaining, especially the little bit of Talking Heads dancing by Ron.
I saw them in Leeds and thought they were poor, without Tom Hingley they’re little more than a tribute band.
