He’s so desperate to put up a story about the City that he’s found an actor who is playing a role in a new show who just happens to be a big City fan. https://www.walesonline.co.uk/lifestyle/tv/its-a-sin-callum-howells-19616647
WOL haven't had a decent journalist reporting on City since Terry Phillips and Steve Tucker. Both were head and shoulders over the recent encumbents who in all honesty seem to be totally detached from the club. Their media pieces have been of extremely poor content and virtually as distant from the nitty gritty at the club as most supporters. We appreciate the need for prudence at City when it comes divulging plans and options on players, but this level of investigative reporting is beyond a joke. This bloke Glen Williams is the latest.
I don't think the current crop have the same inside line at the club as their predecessors. Phillips in particular was fully ITK. In the know. Never was a fan of Tucker the Ugly F****r though. I always felt he was trying to stir things up rather than report the positive. He would have a field day with the club as it is now.
I recall Joe Lovejoy whilst working for the echo was banned from Cardiff games. He’s a quality journalist- see this report on our game with Stoke a few years back as an example https://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/apr/20/cardiff-city-stoke-city-premier-league-match-report
Maybe Glen should ditch his football journalism for being an arts correspondent https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/james-fox-singer-cardiff-citys-19710341
Good article, mostly factual so no subjective opinions needed as when reporting football. I met James Fox while on a squash club tour to Birmingham a few years ago. He had hair then. We were "rehydrating", a necessity after a long day on the court and frequented several facilities offering rehydration services along Broad Street (before visiting a club providing more physical services). Anyway, we were in a club called the Living Room where you had to use a lift to get into the club on an upper floor. One of the guys spotted James and went over for a chat. Once he found out we were all from south Wales, and some were City fans, he joined us and paid his way in our drinks rounds. We also got him singing along with some of the tracks where singing along was possible. A good guy, who has survived, despite meeting us, and the problems highlighted in the article. That night we ended up in a curry house in Dudley at 2.00am. The squash was not of a high standard the next day especially when one guy ran off court several times to throw up and another one actually crapped in his pants on court. Happy days.
I listened to a bit of an interview with him on Radio WaIes on Friday not realising he did that 2008 City song
Not Glen but Tom this time who’s pulled the short straw on being tasked to create a City story https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport...former-liverpool-star-arsenal-misfit-19751423
Yep, got a list of unattached strikers and linked them to us. All a bunch of misfits but Bony, Graham and Niasse FFS!!! Without further senior cover, if needed, we must do what has been mooted elsewhere on here, give the youngsters a go. They will be desperate to play and not just looking to eke out a few quid from the end of their careers like that lot of has been and n'er do wells. Given the opportunity we might find out we have a gem.
