I watched the US Open last night. First time I’ve heard of this fella
He’s put on 20kg in 9 months. Is that possible? He must obviously have a good swing etc as he was a pro already but his drives are monsters and straight as an arrow . The commentators are talking about him revolutionising golf!! Hgh. Or steroids maybe?

What’s also interesting is that the shaft lengths of all his irons are the same. Also, as a monster hitter, the theory ought to be that the US Open should be the most difficult to win, because of the traditional narrow fairway set-up.

Trust me. It doesn't work. I have piled on the pounds (*) and my handicap has gone up.

(*) unlike De Chambeau I used beer rather than steroids, and the gain has been primarily in the gut.

It's tough when the gut gets in the way of seeing the ball. :emoticon-0105-wink::emoticon-0100-smile

Tbf before he went on the bulk up program he was a hell of a golfer already (the scientist as he is known was being tipped for great things) .. but since he has not only added 20kg he has added a huge amount of distance off the tee resulting in him playing in short irons to greens rather then mid range irons .. ergo accuracy is improved .. birdies have improved .. and his ranking is rising like a loaf of bread on the bake ! His performance over the weekend on a growler of a golf course was nothing short of fantastic tbf and the first US Open champion who was the only man left standing at the end of the tournament under par .. bravo sir.

    Yeah I noticed that.
To be honest I didn't even realise that was an option until after I'd just bought a new set.
You would think it would be easier and more consistent (mind you he only uses a driver and wedge and a putter even on a 547 yard par 5!!!)

Nope. He was on the green from 547 yards (or something like that) with one drive and a wedge!

All I know about golf, is it spoils a good walk!

But that's some gain in such a short space of time!

When I play golf it turns a nice walk into a bloody long walk zigzagging up the fairway

Wow. I said puts - should have been put. That's a lot of power & accuracy: drive 325', wedge 190', put 30' - I'm assuming it was an Eagle ?
Missed the TV transmission - so gotta catch up.

In the hot, humid climate over here, I intentionally put the ball into the woods to get some shade. :emoticon-0105-wink:

I love a round of golf just not very good and you only get better by playing but I've not had a single round this year

They say you should visualize a round of golf instead of counting sheep before you go to sleep.
You get lost easily in the mists of time - the rough, the woods, o.b.
    Lots of practice makes perfect.
    Bogey golf anyone ?

Bale only signed for Spurs because Madrid didn't finalise his loan deal to New York City FC in time for the US Open.
