I phoned my wife earlier and asked her if she wants me to pick up fish and chips on my way home from work and she told me to **** off and slammed the phone down on me! Something tells me she still regrets letting me name the twins.
Bilton Fisheries, under new ownership and it's now excellent, much better than the total garbage that Papa's is putting out down the road at Swiss Cottage.
It's bad Castro, trust me, I'm a good judge of haddock and chips, and the fish they put out at Papa's in Bilton, at least on the few occasions that I've been, is truly garbage. Oh and the oil smells old, which is never a good sign.
I do trust you. Went to Whitehead's originally on your recommendation.Returned often. Like 149 in Brid which I think you rate as well. Just surprised Papas in Bilton is apparently so bad as the one in Scarborough is very good indeed. BTW, if you are ever passing near East Ayton near Scarborough there is a restaurant called Murray's which is up there with the best. Foxhounds at Flixton is good as well.
When you can try The Frying Farmer in Aldbrough, it's better than Whiteheads, much better to be honest. https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Resta...dbrough_East_Riding_of_Yorkshire_England.html
Went there after remembering your recommendation. Very good but prefered Whitehead's. So did the wife. Not much in it though.
Seems good but... Looking at the pics, it appears that some clochard has put chip spice on not only a battered sausage and chips, but also has liberally sprinkled it on his fish and ****ing chips.
There's chip spice all over it and beans on one of the pics. I'd put a big gate, well under 2 metres, in front if the entrance. Get em out of business. Disgrace
