They didn't vote for it. SOME of them voted for it. People from all over the North East work at Nissan and its suppliers, so probably somewhere between 30 and 50% of them voted remain. Regardless though, 100% of the people who voted exercised their right to do so in a democratic country. We can disagree or be disappointed in the outcome, but we can't accuse them of doing anything wrong.

From memory I think it is something like 40,000 local jobs that rely directly on Nissan and its supply chain. Many more who rely on those people having money to spend for their own jobs. It would be a huge disaster for this area if Nissan closes. I was hugely in support of remaining, and still think it was a mistake to leave. The job for people who voted remain is now to do everything they can to prove THEMSELVES wrong and hope that we were.

Anyway, this is meant to be a good news thread, so looking for positives me and that **** Albert FINALLY agree on something!!!
