Well will he last till Pre-season given the run of results? Udinese are on a poor run of form as well so a bad time for the Pozzos!
I thought before the run of the last four games he´d give himself a good chance. Now just thinking "What is in the Pozzo mindset here?"
Basically we always seem to start well with a new manager and then really have a dip in form so maybe its down to the players as well? The Chelsea game was great and we grounded out results against Everton/West Brom. On the road we seem to have a negative mind set which isn't really going to suit us as the defence isn't strong enough. In fact the Arsenal game was probably our most positive away performance of the year and we lost that one 3-0!
You have to start thinking it's the players rather than the manager/head coach... They ensure we are pretty much safe and then are on the beach already! You look at how the likes of Newcastle and Palace are still fighting for every point, and we don't seem bothered. There's probably also that mentality that if the head coach is temporary, then why should they try their hardest for them - and think it's pretty obvious most players don't give a s**t about the fans! With a lot of this bunch, I think it will be a cycle of doing just enough to survive... we need a bit of a clear out
I think those are excellent points Kev. Troy has shown what he thinks of us fans. I suspect many of the players feel the same - they do not understand the British connexion fans have traditionally had with players and the club. They are just mercenaries. They would as soon be at Leicester, Everton or Palace as here. While you change your manager every year they owe him no loyalty. In fact when they disagree with him they know he will be gone if they do not perform. The club has become toxic with some of the players more important in their eyes than the club - or fans. A good clear out is needed. Sad to say it but Troy Deeney should be first out the door.
2 of our better players want to leave and then the likes of Okaka and Gray probably feel they deserve more chances elsewhere . Then we just seen to hand out contracts to players who are past their best or not always in the team like Holebas and Capoue. I think we need some younger fitter players who maybe want to prove themselves like Hughes does and Femenia.
I'm hoping our strategy is to buy young now and think there is some indication it is going that way! Some of the older players we bought in were just to survive in the Prem - now we should be building on that and upgrading those players with younger, hungrier players - the likes of Chalobah, Hughes etc. We also have Peneranda to come back in the summer. I hope we use the same strategy in the summer, a couple of youngsters plus add a few more home grown like Cleverley.
Interesting that Gray looked stronger when he came on to replace TD on Saturday... Sent from my G3121 using Tapatalk
A clear out can only happen if there is quality lined up, however, the board said it´d be a quiet summer transfer wise. They are probably lining up a new head coach as we speak.
Can we read much into this ? http://www.skysports.com/football/n...-next-season-amid-speculation-over-his-future
Sunday's performance, not necessarily the result, will make a big difference. Assuming our players turn up, especially those after a big move, and put in another shift then I think he'll get the nod. If we win, I can't see him being sacked - nor unless we turn in a "performance" like at Hull last season... we've basically got to shoot ourselves in both feet.
Gracia is the first head coach in 3 seasons to attend the EOS awards...i'd say that means he's staying. And i think that's a good thing
Swansea have had five managers in two years But it is only Watford who change managers at least once a year
When after the game today Gracia was asked if he expected to be here for the next season. His response. "Yes I expect so."
