Unfortunately not Mr van Gerwen. Postman do not deliver on bank holidays so I'm still waiting on my copy.
Programme secured. It is always important to get to the ground around an hour before kick-off to secure a programme. At games where attendances struggle to hit three figures a lot of clubs would produce well under fifty. Once secured you then retreat to the bar.
A ground with no toilets. I asked where to go for a leak and was told to use the referee's room during the game! A quirky little ground but not hoping to come back in the near future. Spelthorne Sports won 2-0.
A cracking game finished 2-2 with three goals on 90 minutes. We're not the only club inflating our gates. I did a headcount of about 80. The official attendance was given as 198, never was it three figures.
Like the 'log cabin' motif on the fencing and around the gateway. None of your breeze blocks or bar-code reading barriers I assume.
A FA Vase in front of a headcount of 34, probably nearer to 20 officially . About 6 hoppers, so I'm not the only sad c*** doing the hopping!
Real football, not Willy Wonka's Belgian confectionary. I envy your dedication Elfs, and that of your fellow hoppers. I have family reasons for continuing to attend the Valley, but paying money to this regime is not something I'm proud of.
St Margs 1 Tring Tring 3. A shocking game played out to about 44 fans. Tring Tring had a forward similar in style to Ricardo Fuller, he scored 2. I got another badge for the collection but sadly no programme. Fortunately they produced a teamsheet, that is an adequate replacement for my 'paper record' of a game. Oh yeah, "Just sell the club".
Are you going to go back to Wick to watch Marcus Bent, Who signed fot them a week or two back. Only down the road from me, so may go and watch if I’m in need of a laugh.
I was at the Len Salmon Stadium for Bowers & Pitsea 4 Potters Bar 2. Bowers' fourth goal took my breath away and deserves to be shown on 'wonder goal' compilations. Any ideas for Tuesday will be gratefully received. On Wednesday I'll head to Aveley FC to watch their tenants Grays Athletic (currently managed by Jamie Stuart) take on Canvey Island. Next Saturday is Concord Rangers versus Dorking Wanderers in the FA Cup.
Bowers is great, the bus shelters behind the right hand goal from the main stand. Loads of character. I'd swerve Aveley. Their 3g pitch for me is listed at the end of Jan/begin of Feb if there are a host of postponements.
