Have N.Ireland got a game that weekend? Hopefully one of Konsa, Da Silva and Magennis won’t be called up.
Have looked on Soccerway and it is not showing a fixture. However, I am certain that virtually everybody plays a fixture when there is an international break.
Colney Heath will have to wait for another day. Unfortunately I cannot get there in time after work, Oxhey Jets v Holmer Green in the Spartan South Midlands League will get my custom today instead.
Oxhey Jets 2 Holmer Green 2 A Spartan South Midlands league game from yesterday. Whilst the ground was very basic, I liked this ground a lot. The tea bar and grass area to the right looking on, gave a good elevated view of the pitch. Oxhey went two down and had a penalty saved, but deservedly came back to claim a draw. The game was very disappointing for the fact of blatant intimidation by both sides, almost every decision was met with crowding of the referee from both teams. This game was not played in the spirit of non-league football. Off the pitch was another matter, the clubhouse was nice and cheap, I was able to add to my badge collection costing only £1. Entrance including a decent programme(and a teamsheet) was a meagre £6. I did a headcount of about 35, the geezer on the gate reckoned about 23 paid. The rest was made up of officials and season ticket holders.
I was at Woking yesterday to watch Concord Rangers earn an excellent 1-1 in the FA Cup's last qualifying round before the league teams enter the competition. The replay takes place at the Aspect Arena on Tuesday night. Whatever happens, Concord will be in the draw for the first round. The balls will be plucked on Monday evening. I'd break my hiatus for Charlton v Concord...
Hoddesdon 4 London Tigers 0, a headcount of 28, although certain some of those were officials. Almost the lowest gate I have been amongst. Very friendly club who took my number when they have badges available.
Tring(tring)2 Harpenden 3. Another Spartan South Midlands game yesterday. For a measly £6 entrance you received a very informative programme. In the clubhouse I also managed to add to my badge collection, always a bonus at this level. Tring should have won this as Harpenden took the few chances that came their way. Estimated attendance of 70.
Arundel v Lancing last week, however we got to the ground at 14.30 and found the game had been called off due to rain. Fortunately we had a car so we saw the second half of Horsham YMCA v Hassocks, for everybody else it was a hop, I had been there years ago. For the time we were in Arundel, it is VERY nice. Harpenden v Leighton tomorrow, I'll make sure I start contacting the clubs in the morning now the weather is turning.
Would you have gone to Truro had we drawn ? Truro will be my last game for a while, but hats off to the 996 who made the long journey up to us- proper fans.
